Logitech's Wii peripheral plan
Logitech apparently has plans to one-up Nintendo's revolutionary Wii Remote?
August 30, 2007 - According to whispers, Logitech is getting set to announce its own new peripheral for Wii, whose aim may be to tackle Nintendo's Remote.
The company's Chris Spearing explained in an interview that Logitech's goal is "to have at least one product out for the Wii this year," and he gave his take on the motion versus rumble debate.
"Having the motion-sensing in the Sixaxis, that really works for some games. And for the Wii – you've seen people rush out and buy the Wii for that realism, if you're swinging a tennis racket, you know how to do it. Hopefully we'll be at the forefront of pushing that further, combining some of the two."
Although he admires Nintendo's efforts with Wii and Nintendo DS, Spearing insisted that there's plenty to improve on. "If you couldn't improve on it, we wouldn't be in business, and that's the same for all products," he said.
