Watch Dogs

Hier sind nochmal Gameplay Eindrücke aus der Beta:

This was in reply to someone that PM'd me last night after the testing:

To give a bit of background, I'm not a huge open-world gamer although I did enjoy Sleeping Dogs and Assassin's Creed 2 so I compare it to those two in terms of gameplay. I've also played Demon's Souls and Dark Souls as there is a similar invasion mechanic at work in WD.

I didn't get a chance to play a ton of the more single-player stuff but it was fully open world with all manner of cars and trucks available for the stealing as well as boats. The handling of the cars wasn't as good as it felt in Sleeping Dogs, they seemed to be a bit all over the place when making slight adjustments and going at any sort of quick speed.

Similar to Sleeping Dogs, there were some stores you could go into to buy items but many of them were disabled in the beta. I did manage to buy an Uzi and shoot up some stuff promptly getting the cops called on me. Interesting mechanic in that if you stop the 911 caller then the cops won't come and get you. There were some mini-games, I played a coin chase game where you have to climb and jump on things to collect 8-bit mario type coins. I found a chess-game and slot machine but both were disabled for the beta.

Hacking random people on the street was mildly interesting but it gets kind of pointless as all you really benefit from it is getting some money from their accounts when you go to an ATM and get to listen to whatever random conversation they're having. There were lots of cameras, forklifts, electrical panels and other assorted items to hack but some of them seemed to be in random spots so I'm not sure how useful they would be during general gameplay.

I was invaded once while just walking around the streets and that was pretty exhilarating trying to find the invader before they completed the hack. I was able to find the person and then proceeded to chase them in a car I stole. Managed to ram them to a stand still on the highway then got out of my car and killed them to end the invasion. I invaded two people's games and hacked one guy and hid from him by driving like an NPC and then getting in to a parked car and hiding. The other invasion type was a "tailing" mission where I had to follow someone around without being spotted.

The focus of the testing was around the group multiplayer stuff which mostly involved capturing some intel and then running away from / shooting enemy hackers from either wirelessly stealing the info or killing you and taking it. A very cool dynamic is that multiple people can drive in a car and the hack goes faster if team mates are in proximity so the holder of the data can drive while team mates lean out the windows and shoot any pursuers or hack random things as you drive by. Shooting tires was more realistic than Sleeping Dogs and worked effectively to slow down cars but not completely blow them up. I got a fair number of headshots on chasing drivers and that was pretty fun watching the cars slow to a roll with the driver slumped over.

Hacking things while driving is pretty easy but a lot of the items available for hacking don't seem to do too much except for the steam explosions in the middle of the roads. The bollards and fences are a cool idea but high speed driving where those items are located is pretty much impossible so a lot of the benefit is gone.

The shooting mechanics are passable, nothing world shattering here. There is a cover mechanic as well but you can get easily flushed out by grenades. There were ~5 different loadouts to pick from with varying types of gun combos (i.e. AR+shotgun, Sniper rifle + pistol, SMG+pistol, etc.).

The multiplayer missions take place in a "closed" location in that if you leave the map while holding the objective then a timer starts where you'll lose the item. It basically acts like a "wall" without actually being a wall.

The cars seemingly take a ton of damage before being incapacitated but head-on collisions with enemy players in a bigger vehicle can kill you and motorcycles are very vulnerable to any sort of damage.

WD ist wieder so ein Spiel bei dem ich mich frage wieso da ein Multiplayer überhaupt sein muss.

Findest du? Ich hatte gehofft, das dieser eine größere Wichtigkeit als der SP bekommt, da dies perfekt zum Spielansatz der vernetzten Welt und der Beinflussung jener durch den Spieler passen würde. Nach dem Reveal auf der E3 2012 war ich auch der Meinung das diese SP/MP-Mixed Gameplay-Erfahrung eines der wichtigsten Features des Titels sein würde, als am Ende der Präsentation ein anderer Spieler auf dem Dach zu sehen war, welcher die Jagd auf den "Protagonisten" eröffnet.

PC Version sieht auch nicht wie der E3 Trailer aus :nix:
Bin trotzdem noch am Spiel interessiert
 
Das muss doch für PS4 und Xboxone auch toll aussehen, kann doch nicht sein.
Bin echt gespannt auf die ersten Reviews wo man die finale Version sieht, Spiel reizt mich, wenn die Optik auch passt dann wirds die PS4 Version
 
Masterrace ftw. Damit ist die konsolenversion gestorben. Wieviele jetzt schon sagen das die pc version gekauft wird ist unglaublich

Und dennoch ist die PS4 Version ganz oben in den Vorbesteller-Charts. :nix:
Denke immer noch dass das finale Spiel gut aussehen wird. Der letzte Trailer gab ja doch wieder Grund zur Hoffnung.
 
WTF?! Das ist von Oktober.

Glaube kaum, dass es überhaupt Unterschiede gibt, die sofort ins Auge fallen. Falls es überhaupt welche geben wird.

Meinte eh das, was Abendländer gepostet hat... Sorry :(

PC Games Hardware hat nämlich das Video wieder gelöscht, daher ist der Link nun falsch...es existiert nur mehr auf youtube.com...

Wie schwer kanns sein ein Video rauszubringen und zu sagen "Das ist diese Version!" Ubisoft (oder wer auch immer dran schuld ist)

A pcghw.de editor confirmed in their forums that the video was indeed from the PS4 version.
Schade das es keine "OMG, die Grafik zerfetzt die Konsolen regelrecht!" Kommentare gab :v:
