Warp Pipe wird professionell! Nintendo-online?

As the latest buzz suggests, there has been some heavy construction going on behind the doors of Warp Pipe. In the interview, it was revealed that Warp Pipe's new and upcoming service is called Demasked.

While the interview doesn't answer the burning questions we all want to know, it does prove worthy of a teaser for things to come.

Advanced Media also held a mini Q&A with Chad, and was able to dig up the following:

When asked about funding and financial backing, Chad mentioned that starting Q1 of 2005, the company will start seeking financial backing from VC firms and publishers looking to invest into the company.

Chad also mentioned that Demasked is not a static product, meaning that it will come in various stages over time, and that the "first stage" is nearly completed and should be available for a November release.

When asked about the possibility of the Demasked service appealing to the mass market and reaching the mass market as Microsoft's Xbox Live service has, Chat replied: "Demasked will have a significantly greater accessability rate than that of Xbox Live.... and certainly has the potential to rival services on par with Xbox Live, especially in Japan."

Moving on, we asked if Demasked is geared only towards Nintendo DS, or if Revolution and even non-Nintendo console's are in the companies sight. Chad replied, "Depending on publisher reaction, this service could compliment the revolution nicely...I feel strongly that this service works in an array of arenas. Let's see where the market takes it."

When asked if they are working directly with Nintendo, he was unable to comment. But knowing Nintendo, and the facts gathered thus far, it is a fair guess that Nintendo, if concious of Warp Pipe's plans, is on the back-burner waiting to see third-party, and of course gamer reaction.

When asked for any last comments, Chad came forward by saying: "...yes, there are prexisting services [Xbox Live, Sony Online], but the old rules don't apply and Demasked breaks the rules in more way than one."

While the specifics we were all hoping for are not yet revealed, you can expect the full story full to evolve come early November.

Würde echt gerne erfahren was das werden soll.

Ich finde es interessant, wie schön das Wort "demasked" (DS) hervorgehoben wird. ;)
