First, the bad news: I didn't play Resistance! I really wanted some quality time with it but I just spent more time watching other people play and taking pictures/videos of it, as I'd already played it back at E3, and even back then it did indeed play as great as it looks, so no worries there!
The free drinks were nice, as I got a fine glass of Chardonnay & it loosened me up to chat with all them cool Sony fellas
The PS3 controller is even lighter than I remembered it being! I don't really count it as a mark against it, it's very light and transparent as an interface between you & the game.
The buttons for ejecting/restarting are REALLY sensitive though -- I twisted the logo under the disc slot during game play without even touching the eject button, and it ejected the disc ! Be careful with that, guys
Games that looked great: MotorStorm looked AMAZING. Everybody needs to have that demo when the PS3 comes out! Lair also looked phenomonal, and I got to play through the full demo level...it took awhile for me to come to grips with the flying controls (you use the tilt just like Warhawk does!), but it's a very good-looking game and has tons of potential to make a really compelling full experience. Of course, as you can see, Resistance looked very awesome. Unfortunately I don't think it used the tilt at all though . Still my launch title of choice! *stamps seal of approval on Resistance*
F1, even though I only took one picture of it, looks realllly good too. The grass/ground textures are really weak, but everything else in there looks sharp as hell. I played Blast Factor and watched somebody play flOw too, and they're both winners
I'll talk a little bit more about it later, as I messed around with the XMB as well and the general interface, but I was very happy with the games and had a great time! I'll upload some of the videos but they aren't very good
