Also ihr entscheidet. THX!

:goodwork:

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Sold Through 91% Of Its Shipment

On March 12th, Bandai Namco released Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth in Japan, and the game sold 76,760 copies at launch.

That doesn’t sound like a very impressive number, but Japanese sales tracker Media Create says that Cyber Sleuth sold through 91.41% of its shipment, which means that if Namco had shipped more copies, it would have sold more.

Just how much more is hard to say, though. It’s difficult to gauge the state of the Digimon brand in Japan at this point. The previous game, Digimon World Re:Digitize, sold 85,817 copies at launch, and went on to sell over 170,000 copies over the next several months. For a prominent multimedia brand that has been around for years, it feels like there’s room for further growth.

Of course, it bears mentioning that Namco didn’t release Re:Digitize once, but twice. Followings its release on PSP, Bandai Namco developed an updated version of the game for the Nintendo 3DS, and that sold another 34,350 copies at launch. Perhaps we’ll see them release a second version of Cyber Sleuth, too.

Beyond the realm of games, there’s also the upcoming Digimon Adventure Tri anime, which is scheduled to air in Japan later this year. The series is meant to celebrate Digimon’s 15th anniversary, and it could potentially help create a new generation of fans. Additionally, given that Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth was released on the Vita, one can assume Namco were targeting a high school audience—one of the more prominent demographics on the Vita—with the game. That means there’s still a lot room to expand into the kids’ market with other Digimon titles and it should be interesting to see if Namco attempt to do so.

First look at Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni

Famitsu has gone up with its online preview of Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni, Marvelous’ new PS Vita game from Senran Kagura producer Kenichiro Takaki and just one part in a new mixed media franchise.

The 3D battle action game is set on Bhikkhuni, one of five artificial islands, where those within their teens or twenties suddenly find themselves infected with a mysterious virus that temporarily weaponizes them if they acquire neurological enhancements. The girls of Valkyrie Drive are “Rebreakers” capable of freely weaponizing themselves.

“Attack” is the key word of Bhikkhuni. Players control two characters to mow down swarming enemies, slowly increasing the pair’s “Synchronization Rate,” which can change things such as their weaponization, combos, and dialogue during battle. Additionally, players can perform special attacks that tear up the clothes of both allies and enemies alike.

The Valkyrie Drive project was first announced at AnimeJapan in Tokyo last weekend. In addition to Marvelous’ PS Vita game, it consists of a TV anime directed and with character designs by Hiraku Kaneko called Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid, and a social game called Valkyrie Drive: Siren.

First look at Mystery Chronicle

Famitsu has gone up with its online preview of Mystery Chronicle: I Won’t Look Back Until I Win, Spike Chunsoft’s newly announced PlayStation 4 and PS Vita remake of the PC game One Way Heroics.

The “forced scrolling RPG” and roguelike will feature turn-based movement like Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer and randomly generated worlds, but is different in that the screen forcibly scrolls as the world is slowly swallowed up by a mysterious and dreadful light known as the “Shine Raid.” If the hero touches the light, the game is over. So while avoiding the light, the hero must battle enemies blocking his path, pick up items dropped on the map, and invade dungeons that suddenly appear.

Tokyo Xanadu details latest character, Tokyo earthquake, and combat system

New details on Tokyo Xanadu‘s newest character, story, and combat system have come out of the latest issue of Dengeki PlayStation.

Get the information below.

World

The Tokyo Earthquake - A 7.5 magnitude earthquake struck Tokyo, with disaster striking various other areas, as well. The illustration pictured in the magazine features a lot of small details embedded inside it that hint at the state of the world in the game.

Character

Sora Ikushima (CV: ???) – 15 years old. A serious girl and member of the high school’s karate club who possesses the same old-school karate style as her father and teacher. In an effort to broaden her knowledge, she leaves Kyushu (like Tokyo, the kanji for Kyushu is written differently) and heads for Tokyo. Her natural talents at martial arts in tandem with her sincere personality causes friction between her and the senior members of the karate club. She and the protagonist Kou share something in common and are thus acquaintances before the start of the game.

Combat

Normal Attack - By pressing the circle button consecutively with good timing, you can perform attack after attack. Kou has long reach, Asuka has a good balance of power and speed, and Sora has a short reach, but can attack swiftly.

Players have access to three types of skills:

Shooting Skills - By pressing square, you can trigger shooting skills, which are low in power, but in exchange can be rapid-fired.
Flight Skills - By jumping and presing square, you can jump attack and dash attack towards the enemy.
Strength Skills - By holding the square button, you can trigger these high power skills.

According to developer remarks in the magazine, while the game’s combat fundamentals are easy to engage thanks to its one-button chain attack system, advanced players will also be able to do things like swap out skills and characters to make fights more technical in nature.

Tokyo Xanadu is due out for PS Vita in Japan later this year.
