PS4/PS5/Vita The Games of PLAYSTATION

Himari Obuchi in Digimon World: Next Order vorgestellt

It’s been a long time… your heart flutters in your chest as you start up the Digivice. In an instant, your entire body is covered in a pure white light.

When you wake up, you’re in a mysterious world with no entrance or exit.

Shattering your confusion, an unknown threat attacks. And your dear partners come rushing to your dilemma. The bonds that were almost broken are connected, and a path is formed.

It’s the last summer vacation of high school. From a miraculous light, the gate to a new adventure opens.

Summon Night 6 introduces Hayato, Aya, and Natsumi

Bandai Namco has released a new set of Summon Night 6: Lost Borders details and screenshots introducing recently confirmed characters Hayato, Aya, Natsumi, and others, as well as the game’s evening conversations and dual protagonists.

Get the information below.

Story

One after the other, visitors from the world of Lyndbaum begin appearing in the cocoon world of Filujah.

Their encounter with Raj and Amu leads them on an adventure.

But it seems the visitors were summoned from a different time axis and parallel world…

Why is such a thing happening? What is its purpose?

In order to solve the mystery that is the the very key to the cocoon world’s existence, you’ll become entangled in the expectations of various characters while continuing forward on your journey.

Story 01

After meeting Magna and Aty, and continuing on your journey, Patch suddenly begins to feel frightened. Hastily, a young man emitting ominous magic power suddenly appeared for everyone present to witness.

This young man’s name is Hayato. Magna is apparently an acquaintance of his, but the Hayato Magna knew was supposed to be a hero, a ‘Linker’ who would protect Lyndbaum in secret.

Demon Lord Hayato was overwhelming the group, but a young girl named Aya rushes to the rescue.

Aya is the next in line of the legendary Linkers, and as an Elgo agent was a heroine who protected the order of Lyndbaum.

It appears they’ve come here from different parallel worlds—summoners from Lyndbaum—each on a different time axis. Now, everyone begins to understand there are those that come from parallel worlds…

A young boy summoned from modern day Japan to Lyndbaum, whose was possessed by the Demon Lord. The Demon Lord moved the gate which led to modern day Japan in order to devour Hayato’s world, but was summoned to the cocoon world midway. When he arrived he was starving, and his magic power was greatly reduced. So the usually reserved Hayato begins to act selfishly and cause trouble.

A young boy who is a confident, high ranking summoner. In order to save his friend Hayato, who was captured by the Demon Lord, he chases the Demon Lord, jumping into a gate to a different world, but is summoned to the cocoon world, where he loses most of his magic power.

Aya Higuchi (voiced by Yuri Shiratori)

Ig2hShR.jpg

A young girl with a neat and fragile appearance, but who also has a fortitude to stick to her beliefs for what’s best. Unlike the others who were summoned from Lyndbaum, it seems she voluntarily came to this world. She gains courage doing daredevil things with a calm face. In a sense, she’s wicked.

Claret Servolt (voiced by Kaoru Sakura)

A polite summoner girl. She and Aya are best friends and share secrets with each other. Much of her magic power disappeared after coming to this world, and her summon arts and large-scale attacks have become unusable.

Story 02

Amu is a young girl living in the cocoon world. She was living quietly with her rare animal companion Quilt.

One day, Amu witnessed lights of unprecedented scale raining down one after the other.

Unable to control her curiosity, she goes to examine one at her own discretion, and comes upon Natsumi, a girl from the different world of Lyndbaum.

Having not come into contact with humans other than herself, Amu was awkward and didn’t know if it was okay to approach her.

Near Natsumi, another light fell. And where it fell, Natsumi’s friend Cassis was there.

The reunion was joyful, and Amu, seeing that these two people had a mutual and caring trust for each other, recalled a faint yearning, and a feeling that she wanted to change herself was born.

From there, Amu decides to go on a journey with Natsumi to help her find her friends…

Natsumi Hashimoto (voiced by Tomoe Hanba)

A girl summoned from modern day Japan to the different world of Lyndbaum. Just as she was beginning to get used to her daily life in a different world, she was summoned to the cocoon world. Unable to deal with the situational change, she is picked up by Amu, who finds her crying. In her bluntness, Natsumi tends to feel uneasy when receiving assistance. She was looking for her friend Cassis, from who she was separated.

Cassis Servolt (voiced by Megumi Toda)

Her magic power lowered after she was summoned to this world. No longer able to fight like she normally would, she is rescued and reunited with Natsumi after being attacked by a stray summon. She joins her friend and takes on the role of the cheery and soothing mood maker. As Natsumi’s taster of poison, she’ll do anything she says obediently and sniff out any hidden dangers.

Game System

Visit your allies during adventure parts increase your likability. The series’ familiar evening conversations return, as well.

The story progresses via adventure parts. Solve the world’s variety of occurring events together with your allies.

You can increase your likability with allies through sub-event conversations. With a higher likability, you can gain enhanced Summon Assist effects, an increased chance of co-op attacks, and other bonuses. Characters with high likability can be useful in various situations.

Choose Your Hero

Like previous games, you’ll get to choose between a male or female protagonist. Traditionally, the story would proceed in the point of view of the character you select, and the character you don’t select wouldn’t appear in the story. However, Summon Night 6 changes up this formula. You’ll proceed through the story from the point of view of the character you select, but no matter which hero you choose, both characters are involved and play important roles in the story. You’ll even be able to increase your likability with the character you don’t select through evening conversations.

Summon Night 6: Lost Borders is due out for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in Japan in spring 2016. A western release has yet to be announced, but western trademarks for “Lost Borders” have been filed.

Kadokawa Games announces Root Letter for PS4, PS Vita

Kadokawa Games announced mystery adventure game Root Letter for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita during its fall media briefing today. It’s planned for release worldwide in spring 2016.

Root Letter is the first entry in Kadokawa Games’ new series of mystery games. It’s a youth mystery adventure and human drama set in Shimane Prefecture. Its story is outlined as, “Melt the frozen past, and begin walking towards the future.” It features both adventure and simulation parts.

Love Plus character designer Mino Taro is handling character designs and planning. The scenario is being handled by Dario Fuji, and the music by Takashi Nitta.

Here’s Kadokawa’s official English description:

The truth is endless sorrow.

The first title of the series “Kadokawa Game Mystery.” A collection of adventure games that explore human drama, featuring local Japanese culture and history.

Root Letter is set in the Shimane prefecture, a land with a rich history and beautiful nature.

The player will engage an adventure to solve the mystery of Fumino Aya, a pen pal friend from high school who disappeared after leaving a mysterious letter. A letter delivered 15 years later…

Here’s our translation of the Japanese information:

Story

The player is the protagonist of the story, and in search of his high school pen pal Aya Fumino, visits Matsue in Shimane Prefecture, Japan. Around your senior year of high school, you had a pen pal. Her letters supported you throughout your exams. A subtle love began to bud for the girl who always smiled so kindly in her photographs. But when you graduated, a letter never arrived.

It’s been 15 years since then, and you’ve found the final letter that you thought was never sent.

“I’ve killed someone. I must compensate for my sins. This is farewell. Goodbye.”

What happened to her? To meet your pen pal, you visit Matsue. However, her home had burned down in a fire 15 years ago.

The key to solving this mystery is her 11 letters and photographs. But the seven classmates mentioned in her letter refuse to talk. Is the school life of her and her classmates as written in the letters a complete fabrication?

Gradually, her classmates will reveal their hidden truths. What happened 15 years ago? What is the meaning of her last letter?

What is Aya Fumino’s true nature?

By solving these mysteries, will you be able to meet her?

Aya Fumino (voiced by Noriko Hidaka)

Your pen pal from 15 years ago. At the time, she was a senior at Shimane Prefectural Matsue Oba High School. From the letters she sent you reflecting her high school life, she is a kind and compassionate person surrounded by good friends. She was a good pen pal whose letters carried a bit of love.

Now, 15 years later, you find her last letter written just before graduation, and your idea of her is transformed. Was the school life she told you of all a lie? The truth lies in Shimane. Head there and discover the truth behind her identity.

Shimane Prefecture

The setting of this work is Shimane Prefecture, a location blessed with history and cultural heritage, and where there is a feeling of transparency.

By repeatedly gathering data in the real world, Kadokawa Games has faithfully reproduced the lives of the local people of Shimane Prefecture, the “unspoilt landscape of the youth,” with a vivid sense of reality.

From famous tourist spots to shops frequented by locals, including spots that actually exist in the real world, many locations will appear.

While going around Shimane Prefecture in the footsteps of their pen pal Aya Fumino, you’ll taste the flavors of both Matsue and Izumo.

Theme Song: Junai Rhapsody

The theme song, “Junai Rhapsody,” is written and composed by Mariya Takeuchi, covered by Ron, and produced by Suzuki Daichi Hideyuki. Mariya Takeuchi herself is from Shimane Prefecture.

Stranger of Sword City for PS Vita coming west in March

NIS America is bringing the Experience-developed dungeon RPG Stranger of Sword City to PS Vita both physically and digitally in North America on March 22, 2016 and in Europe on March 25, the publisher announced.

The dungeon RPG from the makers of Demon Gaze takes a more western approach, infusing the game with themes of dark fantasy, new elements, and the ability to compete with other players through online leaderboards. It is a game about death and disappearance where the choices you make have meaning.

Get the full rundown below, via NIS America:

Story

Your flight crashes after passing through a mysterious portal. As the sole survivor, you awaken to an unfamiliar land lit by stars you’ve never seen. This land is Escario, the city of swords. Quickly marked as the Chosen One, the Stranger of Sword City, you must defend this place, and choose your allegiances carefully as you scour the land for a way home.

Key Features

- A Surprising Dark Fantasy – A labyrinth wouldn’t be complete without the trappings of darkness that this fantasy brings. The story and characters depart from the comedy and lightness found in some of Experience’s other games, and opts for traditional hardcore elements like perma-death and Life Points, while infusing the gameplay with a new Ambush system which will challenge you to decide how much risk you’re willing to accept to obtain the greatest loot.
- Competition in the Dungeon – Unlike most dungeon RPGs, Stranger of Sword City won’t leave you as a stranger among your peers. Online leaderboards will allow you to finally compete with your friends, and strangers across the world to display your dominance in everything from the best gear, to the fastest clear time.
- Overwhelming Art – Fantasy is created by visuals and music as much as by story. In this title, the breathtaking art throughout your travels, and abundance of character portraits available for creating your perfect party will allow you to be truly transported into the magic of Sword City.
