once and for all. With the recent shut down of EA's PS2 division of sports games, it seems the ports for PC have been canceled as well.
While it's altogether outrageous to PC fans of the sports games, there is still a glimpse of satisfaction that perhaps we will finally be able to stop these crap PS2 ports that were continually released since 2006 for our beloved platform. And maybe this will encourage 2k sports to finally enter the market with the rest of their franchise titles.
As of right now, NHL 10 is confirmed to be canceled. Similar story with Madden 10 - though after missing out in 09 edition, PC users hoped EA spent this time developing a proper PC version for this year. No such luck. And last but not least, Tiger Woods will be delayed, perhaps significantly so. And a lack of official feature confirmations suggests that another old-gen port may be in the works.
And so there we have it. EA Sports finally decides it's not worth their time to port PS2 titles that "will be pirated anyway". All the talk about revamping the PC franchises, and other empty promises by the boss, was thrown out the window. Thanks, Mr Moore.
