New rumors surrounding the Nintendo Revolution, post-San Andreas GTA, and so much more with the Video Cowboy.
It's time once again for the Video Cowboy to have his way with the most recent industry rumors. This week we take a look at Nintendo's Revolution, the next GTA, F-Zero and a whole lot more.
Nintendo Next Generation Console to Include Online Play?
At the Electronic Entertainment Expo held this past May in Los Angeles, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata declared that work on a gaming revolution has begun at Nintendo. He teased the press and analysts gathered at the Nintendo press conference that specs don't matter. Ever since I heard that I have been beating the gaming bushes trying to found out the reason for his bold statements. Now I think I have come up with the answer.
Don't expect Nintendo to sit on the sidelines and watch Sony and Microsoft battle it out to see who will release their next generation console first. Inside sources tell me that Nintendo is getting ready to pull the wool over both Sony's and Microsoft's eyes. Not only are they working like mad to get their next generation console ready to beat both of their major competitors to market. I am hearing that the system will have Mario, Zelda, Mario Kart, Metroid and Star Fox games as well as a few other high-profile games ready to ship at launch, not two or three years after like they did with the Nintendo 64 or GameCube. Nintendo has talked to gamers and retailers and have come to realize that the only way it's going to compete and win against the Xbox Next or the PlayStation 3 is to bring their best gaming brands to market as soon as they ship their next generation console!
That is what Iwata meant when he said specs don't matter. However we have learned that the next generation Nintendo machine might include a 15 GB hard drive and as you already know from previous reports, chips for the machine are being made by ATI and IBM, the same folks who are making the Xbox Next chip sets! Other rumblings we have begun to dig up include the fact the system might include dual 1.8 GHz Power PC processors and an 800 MHz graphics chip.
We have also learned that the new Nintendo machine will have a revolutionary modem technology that will allow for voice chat, online gaming the whole shebang! Nintendo is planning a full online strategy that will be announced as part of its next generation console unveiling which we are hearing will take place sooner rather than later!
