Jason Schreier hat ein Interview mit Johanna Faries geführt über Blizzard. Hier mal ein Ausschnitt darüber, wie es ist, nun ein Teil von Xbox zu sein.

One other thing I’ve got to ask you about, which is Xbox, your corporate overlord. I’m curious about what your interactions with them are like, especially as Xbox changes so much. They’re so much different now than they were even a couple of years ago. Have your pressures changed at all?

I feel incredibly empowered for where we sit. Now, we are responsible to drive a thriving business. We’re going to hold ourselves to high standards. Microsoft expects high standards, but provided we have our house in order, if you will. I think in many ways it’s a credit to Matt Booty and Phil Spencer. I think they’re fans of Blizzard. They want to see Blizzard thrive, and I think they trust in the talent that we have here to be able to write our future.

So Matt is not coming to you and saying do this, this and this.

He’s saying, ‘how I can help?’ more than anything else.

Hier bestätigt Schreier einige Sachen u.a. auch, dass Mike Ybarra inkompetent gewesen ist. Das würde dann auch erklären, warum Ybarra kurze Zeit nach der Übernahme Blizzard verlassen hat.
