More Details About Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIIIs Returning Characters

Many characters from the Final Fantasy XIII series will be coming back in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII (with the NORA being an exception). One of the more surprising returns we’ll be seeing is that of Cid Raines, whose return in this game might baffle you if you’ve played Final Fantasy XIII.

This week’s issue of Famitsu magazine shares a glimpse of the general, along with a tidbit of information on what he’ll be up to in the third installment of the series.

In the magazine report, Cid is quoted as saying: “It’s not god. What’s moving me is the countless thoughts of the dead. I am the representative of the dead.”

The above image also shows him saying “You should know very well whose soul you must find,” which we can assume he’s saying to none other than Lightning.

If you’d like to refresh your memories on Cid and other events, you can check out our earlier post that summarizes Final Fantasy XIII.

Additionally, this week’s Jump magazine shows us a look at Serah in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, who’s shown saying, “I’ll discard the faulty memories, and once again go back to living the good days with my sister, in the new world.”

While details on how Cid and Serah will be returning are scarce, it appears as though they will be appearing in some form of spiritual essence.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII comes out next week in Japan, and February 2014 in the west, for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Hm... das macht natürlich Lust auf mehr (Story). Insgeheim hoffe ich ja immer noch auf einen perfekten Abschluß der XIII'er Reihe. Aber ich denke, dass ich in dieser Hinsicht nicht enttäuscht werde.

Dieses Bild finde ich immer wieder atemberaubend. Wenn diese Wüste eine ähnliche Atmosphäre hätte wie die Wüste am Anfang von FF12 und die Weiten von Gran Pulse in FF13, dann wäre ich hochauf zufrieden mit den Settings.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII's Western Release to Include Japanese Audio

Square Enix announced on Thursday that its release of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII in the Americas and Europe will feature the original Japanese audio track as downloadable content. The DLC will be available for free for the first two weeks after the game ships in the West, and then will be available as paid content. Square Enix noted that the Japanese-language DLC will include the original lip-synching, which differs from the lip-synching for the English-language voice track.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII shipped in Japan on Thursday. The game will arrive in the United States on February 11, 2014, and then in Europe on February 14, 2014.

Players who pre-order the game in North America and Europe will be able to unlock Cloud's uniform and buster sword as equipment for Lightning. Lightning is also getting a Yuna costume from Final Fantasy X and various samurai costumes, as well as an Aerith Gainsborough costume and guard rod weapon from Final Fantasy VII, and a Miqo'te costume from Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn with shields with motifs from the game's three city-states: Limsa Lominsa, Gridania, and Ul'dah.

The game will represent the final chapter in Lightning's story. The game centers around a 13-day countdown until the end of the world, and players must save humanity within 13 days and 13 nights.

Alter SE, wie kann man bloß so blöd sein? Da basiert das Spiel auf ein Zeitlimit und dann kommt so ein OST, indem man am liebsten durch die Welt spazieren und chillen würde. Aber nein, man steht ja unter Zeitdruck. :v:

OST wird wieder gerkauft, war bei der gesamten Reihe bisher super imo

Ist ja noch Zeit bis zum Release, denke Mitte Januar rum wird diese angekündigt und dann gleich bestellt, das eine kommt ist sicher
