One-Punch Man Manga Gets TV Anime

This year's 15th issue of Shueisha's Young Jump magazine is announcing on Tuesday that a television anime adaptation of Yuusuke Murata's One-Punch Man manga has been green-lit. The cast and staff will be announced within a promotional video at Bandai Visual's booth at the Anime Japan 2015 event on March 21 and 22.

Murata wrote that when he learned about the anime being green-lit, he was so happy that he wanted to immediately post on Twitter, but unfortunately had to hold back and be patient. ONE wrote that he is participating in production meetings for the anime.

The series revolves around the titular super hero who has trained so hard that his hair has fallen out, and who can overcome any enemy with one punch. However, because he is so strong, he has become bored and frustrated with winning all his battles so easily.

Murata's manga series adapts ONE's original web manga of the same name. Murata's manga is currently running on Shueisha's free Tonari no Young Jump spinoff website. The series passed the 2.2--million mark in November 2013, the 3.4-million mark last May, and the 4.5-million mark in November.

One-Punch Man is currently serialized in Viz Media's English-language digital edition of Weekly Shonen Jump.

Text: Strike the Blood OVA Green-Lit!

The school action fantasy story of Strike the Blood revolves around Kojō Akatsuki (voiced by Yoshimasa Hosoya), a boy deemed the "fourth progenitor" — the world's most powerful vampire, once thought to only exist in legend and lore. In the Itogamijima special zone for demons, a girl named Yukina Hirameki (Risa Taneda) is entrusted with watching over the vampire and if needed, hunting him down.

The light novel series already inspired the Strike the Blood television anime series.

The television anime of Gakuto Mikumo's Strike the Blood light novel series premiered in 2013, and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan. Discotek licensed the television anime for North American home video.
