3DS Bravely Second: End Layer

mir gefällt es nicht... Geschmackssache

Bravely Second’s Guardian Job, Bloody Geist revealed

With a little over two months to go now until its Japanese release for Bravely Second, Square Enix has put out a new press release, revealing a new job, a new Asterisk Holder, and status updates on old ones, as well. Catch our abridged translation that focuses squarely on actual new content below.

New Job: Guardian

An offense-oriented job that focuses on manipulating spiritual power to unleash powerful attacks and buffs. Rumor has it that Guardians are even capable of using abilities held by other people….

New Exorcist Asterisk Holder: Bloody Geist

Bloody Geist is an Exorcist Asterisk Holder who serves the Grantz Empire and Emperor Oblivion. His age, origin, even his real name are all shrouded in mystery. He’s especially gifted at using his “Undo” skill, which reverts things to what they were previously. In practice this means he’s capable of literally undoing things that have taken place within the last several turns such as damage taken from enemies and consumed MP. Even if he severely and visibly injures someone, he can erase their memories of when they actually got hurt, leaving them just with their wounds. Unable to stop himself from hurting others, his sanity has been wrought asunder, constantly in a state of mental anguish and seeking an end to his life.

White Mage Asterisk Holder: Holly White

Holly is the sole woman among the ranks of Eternia’s Sky Knights. A spirited woman with qualities akin to that of an older sister, in the previous game, she, alongside her partner Barras, faced down Tiz. This time around, she seems to find herself facing off against Erutus Profiteur over an abandoned seaside house, though there may well be more to it than that.

Thief Asterisk Holder: Jackal

Jackal is the young head of a band of thieves who hole themselves up inside the Harena Ruins. In the previous game, he stole from others on orders from Erutus Profiteur and caused trouble for those who came out to the oasis, but now he’s reformed himself and created a group that self polices desert activity.

Merchant Asteris Holder: Erutus Profiteur

Erutus is the former head of the once Ancheim-based Khamer & Profiteur Merchantry. An man who cares about little more than the money he makes, he disappeared after the antics of Tiz and her crew resulted in the destruction of his company, but he seemingly now has his eyes set on the Eisen region.

Bravely Second is set to release in Japan for 3DS on April 23. You can catch a gallery of new screenshots and artwork here.

Bravely Second Adds New Special Moves For Each Weapon Type

With the return of Tiz, Edea, and several other characters from Bravely Default, along with many new jobs, Bravely Second has quite a lot going on. This week’s issue of Jump magazine reveals that weapons in the game will have special moves. [Thanks, @kazu4281]

Along with a little recap on the key characters of the game and their relationships, the magazine scan mentions that each weapon type will have its own special moves, and in Bravely Second, each weapon you equip will have up to four special moves.

Additionally, whenever you use these special moves, it will give the user certain buffs. The scan shows Magnolia using a special move called “Megaton Swing,” with what appears to be an axe weapon.

Bravely Second is slated for release in Japan on April 23, 2015 for Nintendo 3DS. Check out our earlier report for a closer look at Tiz and the new Guardian job.

Ich hoffe, dass das Spiel zum Ende hin sich nicht wieder so ewig zieht wie der Vorgänger ... Am Anfang war ich voll motiviert, dann eher nicht mehr.

Bravely Default Gets A Beautifully Illustrated Story Recap Trailer

Bravely Second will be releasing next month in Japan! To remind the players of the first installment’s story, Square Enix has released a new beautifully illustrated story recap trailer where Agnes explains the events of the past.

Bravely Second takes place a few years after bringing peace to Luxendarc. Agnes Oblige has become the newly inaugurated Pope of the Crystal Orthodoxy and works to bring peace between Eternia and Crystal Orthodoxy. The dream of peace is soon shattered when she gets kidnapped by Emperor Oblivion – right before she was meant to participate in the peace treaty ceremony. The future which once seemed certain is now in danger. This is where Magnolia Arch, Yu Zeneorshia, Jean Engarde and Nikolai Nikolanikov step in! Edea Lee and other old friends will be assisting the new heroes during their journey as well.

The Western release of Bravely Second remains “to be announced”.

Bravely Second Reveals Its Newest Job With The “Chariot”

Bravely Second’s new jobs are quite different this time around, with less on the traditional Final Fantasy-like jobs, and more unique ones with the likes of Cat Master, Patissier, and Exorcist. This week’s issue of Famitsu reveals the newest job.

The details come from a preview of this week’s magazine issue, so we don’t have too many details on the job, but it is said that the new Chariot job specializes in physical attacks. Its Asterisk Holder goes by the name Ku Fulin (voiced by Tetsu Inada).

Additionally, the magazine provides some more details on the new Wizard job, and its Asterisk Holder named Ayame (voiced by Akiko Yajima). More details on the Chariot job are expected to be revealed in the near future.

Bravely Second will release in Japan on April 23, 2015 for Nintendo 3DS.

Bravely Second introduces the Chomper Maker

With less than a month to go now until the game’s Japanese launch, Square Enix has pushed out another press release for Bravely Second, once again introducing two new characters and classes, as well as introducing the Chomper Maker minigame. You can catch the translated goods below.

Wizard Asterisk Holder: Ayame

3XolXId.jpg

Ayame is a 22 year-old Wizard Asterisk Holder affiliated with the Grantz Empire. Decked out top to bottom in black and always carrying a strange doll with her, she gives off an unsettling vibe. With Cu Chulainn as her apprentice, she goes after Yuu and his party using a new form of magic known as “Ethereal Magic.” Her expression ever-hidden behind her raven locks, Ayame seems to bear something of a deep-seated grudge against the crew, one that goes deeper than just her mission….

Chariot Asterisk Holder: Cu Chulainn

5A1DSgj.jpg

Cu Chulainn is the Chariot Asterisk Holder hailing from the Grantz Empire. His age unknown, on his back, he carries an incalculable number of weapons, while also possessing a horse’s torso for on the lower half of his body. So lengendary is his boundless fighting spirit and fury that he’s feared by the imperial troops as the “Raging Chariot.” For some reason, though, he calls not the emperor his master, but Ayame, without any hesitation whatsoever. As someone who styles himself to be something of an ancient fighter, he speaks in a manner befitting a past era, although just who he truly is and why his body is what it is are complete, utter mysteries.

Performer Asterisk Holder: Praline à la Mode

gB2n0Qx.jpg

Praline is a battlefield idol known for her cute, dazzling looks in tandem with her natural singing voice, lending her quite the following. As a former member of the Black Blades in the previous game, she tried intervening in the insurrection at Eisenberg, but ultimately stepped out of the limelight for a time after facing defeat at the hands of Tiz and his group. Now, however, she’s returned to the singing business and says she’s in the midst of preparing new songs.

Pirate Asterisk Holder: Hayreddin Barbarossa

sJGR335.jpg

The first mate of the Eternian Black Blades, Hayredden rides aboard the SS Funky Francisca around the Pirate Ocean. This time around, though, as a man of the seas, he apparently sometimes tries to put his foot down with Praline, but….

Swordmaster Asterisk Holder: Nobutsuna Kamiizumi

1HQ73Ob.jpg

Nobutsuna is the head of the Black Blades and a true master of the art of the sword, having once been Edea’s teacher. Previously, during the uprising at Eisenberg, against all odds, he managed to hold his own admirable against considerable opposition. Afterwards, though he appeared to be engaged in an international journey to further hone his skills, ostensibly in the middle of his travels, he reappears before Edea and the others alongside a cat he takes in.

New Job: Wizard

3S3KR2G.jpg

A new job that specializes in the new class of “Ethereal Magic.” Their special ability, “Addendum,” which allows them to change the effects of their magic by adding special words to their spells, is highly powerful and has its uses throughout the entirety of the game.

New Job: Chariot

6JP5ilR.jpg

Chariots are physical attack characters that can make use of most any weapon available to them. They come with three special abilities: Warmonger, which sees their affinity for their equipped weapon go up with every normal attack; Disorder, which lets them throw their weapon at all enemies; and Triple Blade, which lets them equip three weapons.

Chomper Maker

VUyJG5n.jpg

Chomper Maker is a new minigame where four characters are tasked with making Chomper plushes by cutting cloth, padding them, fastening together, and adding the final touches, with one character per job. Upon making a plush, they get stored in the packaging in the bottom screen, which can be sold for a special currency known as “Chomps.” Chomps can then be exchanged for PGs, making it in players best interests to push out as much stock as they can! The prices of each pack vary depending on things like how full a given pack is and whether it includes certain types of Chompers. Adequately fulfilling such conditions will result in a bonus being tacked on. Plus, if the value of a pack of plushes reaches specific amounts, players can unlock additional BGMs that can be be played freely as they go about their work.

Not all plushes are the same, though; produce enough of them and the chance to make rare Chompers just might arise. The type of tools used to produce them can also affect players’ output, with good quality ones increasing productivity for a limited time frame, doling out specific effects ranging from making rare Chompers to overall production time for each unit being shorted, among many others. Manufacturing tools can be bought from a special shop that takes payment in Chomps.

It’s also worth paying attention to the Fever Gauge. Every time a Chomper plus gets made, the gauge goes up and once it tops out, a character can be picked to go into Fever Mode, drastically improving their morale and, by extension, their work output.

Chomper Village

WU1FTC8.jpg

A mysterious little settlement buried deep within a forest far away from human eyes, the Chomper Village. It’s here that Chompers are sent out from the “Chomper Cooperative” and have life breathed into them before being sent out into the world at large.

Square Enix hasn’t yet confirmed Bravely Second: End Layer for the West. However, the first installment’s sales surprised them that it’s very likely the Western release will be announced sooner or later. The new opening CGI also implies the game might have a bigger budget than before, which makes Square Enix seem quite confident about the sequel and its possible success.
