Ubisoft Sofia kept the handheld nature of the Vita in mind when it came to designing missions. Assassin’s Creed fans can expect missions they can complete in short bursts for an on the go experience. According to Capel, the length of the game will last 15 hours for experienced gamers and up to 20 hours for the typical gamer.
When it comes to combat, Aveline will bring a mix of flair and precision using melee combat, hidden blades, pistols, and her silent, deadly blowpipe. Capel also confirmed that Aveline will be able to wield two weapons at the same time in Liberation, a feature that also will be seen in Assassin’s Creed 3 combat system.
Aveline’s social status will also effect the gameplay, but Capel couldn’t speak more on it till a later date. He did confirm that unique activities such as Mardi Gras will take place in the game.
The Louisiana Bayou will bring a variety of wild animals many that Capel labeled as a threat. The most dangerous animal according to Ubisoft – the alligator. “These wait on the banks of the swamp or cruise the waters looking for prey, and will attack people whenever they can.”
The Bayou’s swamp like nature will be dangerous to traverse, making trees the safest and fastest way to get across. Even though the alligator threat is left below, Ubisoft promises the Bayou will have a threat of its own. “Within this region, the player will encounter smugglers and other outcasts from New Orleans, living in their own settlements and following their own rules.” I don’t know about you, but the Louisiana Bayou doesn’t sound like a fun place to be.
Capel also confirmed that Avaline will be crossing the Gulf to Mexico, but no further details were given.
