Xbox One die Konsole für Erwachsene Spieler!
Zu diesem Urteil sind jetzt Analysten gekommen und nehmen als Grundlage das Erscheinen von Spielen mit einem "M-Mature"-Rating. Hier liege die Xbox One beeindruckend in Führung. Immerhin 21% der Xbox Spiele besitzen ein M-Raiting, während der Next-Gen Wettbewerber gerademal auf 17% komme. Dessen Vorgänger erreiche nur 8%.
e long wait for new info about Capybara's enticing Xbox One roguelike Below may soon be over, though the game won't, alas, put in appearance at the Game Developers Conference next week.
"You will be seeing a lot more of Below quite soon, but not at GDC," reads a post from the developer on NeoGAF. Instead, Capybara plans to spend GDC banging on about the equally promising Super Time Force, a madcap, temporally unhinged action game for Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
A third post points us towards a recently published interview with Game Informer, which dates back to September last year. "[A lot] has changed," the developer cautions. "But there's some worthwhile-but-still-sorta-vague stuff in there."
The interview includes a few thoughts from studio co-founder Nathan Vella about Below's minimalist aesthetic. "Even though the game looks relatively simple, there's a whole lot of stuff going on under the hood that uses a lot of the firepower," he told the site. "But that's kind of secondary to it.
"Both the persistent elements and multiplayer are using a lot of the features that are not presently available to us in any current-generation stuff. I think the push towards more connected, more 'stuff happening in the cloud,' allows us a lot of opportunity to do really cool stuff."
Little is known about Below's multiplayer, but it appears to compare to the sneaky drop-in, drop-out multiplayer from, er, From Software's Dark Souls and Demon's Souls. Capybara is familiar with the comparison. "It bummed me out a little bit when Demon's Souls came out specifically," creative director Kris Piotrowski admitted. "There were so many similarities in the design philosophies in that game and the game that I was trying to figure out that it did sort of bum me out for about two months.
"But on the bright side it made us feel a lot more confident in what we were doing. We feel good about what we're making now thanks to those games."
Apparently, you'll be reincarnated as another character when you die. This is news to me. "You are playing an extremely capable character, but a character that's also very fragile, that's sort of one mistake away from death," said Piotrowski. "It's not a game about a main character. It's a game about a lot of little characters over time working together to solve the mysteries of this world."
Progress isn't completely reset on death, however. "Even though your character's life is a very short and fleeting effort, whatever it is that you've managed to discover or complete or change in the world is something that your next character will be able to build on." Certain aspects of Below's world may change based on how other players on your network progress in their own games, he later added. Intriguing.
Whatever these online features amount to in practice, they'll be handled behind the scenes, rather than by way of a generic multiplayer menu. "You just play the game and every once in a while multiplayer things happen. You don't have to worry about it. You just go in and you start playing. You're exploring, and all of a sudden you might find yourself not quite alone in the depths."
As with the Souls games, Piotrowski wants Below to be tough but not punishing for the sake of it. "I think that the combat is very fair. You're never going to get screwed into dying. You're going to die because you made a mistake or because you didn't know what this enemy was going to do. But the next time you see them, you'll know. At the same time, it is definitely difficult and challenging."

Es ist ja in dieser Gen auch die "Edel" Konsole. So wurde einst die PS3 verteidigt, als diese teurer war als die Konkurrenz. Dieses Kreuz tragen nun wir hier. Dafür sind wir, meines Wissens ohne weiteres zutun, ab sofort edel.

Gut es wäre interessant gewesen, wenn man die Musik auch ohne andocken im Hintergrund laufen lassen könnte .... aber so würde es bei 25€ entsprechend auch mehr Sinn als Spotify machen ... da wäre ich bei 120€ im Jahr.
