PS4/PS5/Vita The Games of PLAYSTATION

IA/VT Colorful won’t release in the west

IA/VT Colorful, Marvelous’ upcoming Vocaloid rhythm game for PS Vita, won’t be released in the west, producer Kenichiro Takaki confirmed.

“If it were possible, I’d love to bring it over, but there are a lot of difficulties involved in that process. Now, that said, there’s no reason why you can’t import it,” Takaki told Siliconera. “Since it’s a music title, and since music is arguably one of the most protected media types artists have, that just means more doors to knock on and more approvals to get. It’s far more difficult than a Senran Kagura title.”

Asked to clarify if that meant western players will have to import the game if they want to play it, Takaki responded, “Yes, I believe that that’s the case.”

IA/VT Colorful is due out for PS Vita on July 30 in Japan.

Persona 4: Dancing All Night coming to Europe this fall

NIS America will bring Atlus’ Persona 4: Dancing All Night for PS Vita to Europe alongside the North American release this fall, the company announced.

The story-driven rhythm game will arrive with a limited “Disco Fever” edition, as well as standard physical and digital releases.

Get the details below.

About

Persona 4: Dancing All Night (P4D) is a story-driven music game that takes place after the events of 2014’s fighting game, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax. Players get pulled onto the Midnight Stage when the spotlight turns to mega-idol Rise and her junior group, Kanamin Kitchen. Members of Kanamin Kitchen have disappeared into the Midnight Stage and it’s up to Rise and the Investigation team to mount a rescue mission — only they discover the same monstrous Shadows from the Midnight Channel. To make matters even worse, their old powers no longer work, and the Shadows in P4D can only be defeated by dance, so it’ll be up to players to bust out powerful dance moves in order to save the day!

With a fully voiced story mode lasting more than 30 hours, P4D is exclusive to the PS Vita (PSTV compatible), and features challenging music-rhythm gameplay that explores nearly 30 full remixes and original tracks based on the compositions of legendary Persona series music composer, Shoji Meguro.

The “Disco Fever” EU Edition will include*:

Two Discs Chock Full of Persona 4 Music Remixes — Hear the full Persona 4: Dancing All Night soundtrack in all its glory! The remixed tracks put a new spin on the incredible music from Persona 4.
Last Night a Vita Pouch Saved My Life — Protect your PS Vita in this custom P4D enameled pouch with a full color P4D design featuring Teddie in all his Elvis-esque jumpsuit glory on one side, and an embossed version of the P4D logo on the reverse.
All About that Bear — Never lose your keys or whatever else again with a golden Teddie keychain. (Not real gold, of course.)
The Whole Package — All the items will come in a large collectible box with custom disco ball art (based on the Japanese Crazy Value Pack version of P4D).
Cover Band — Preserve the sanctity of the PS Vita’s display with a form-fitting skin to show off the very essence of P4D! (The skin is designed to fit the most recent model of PS Vita).

Tokyo Xanadu screenshots introduce Goro, Other World Search App

The latest set of Tokyo Xanadu screenshots introduce Goro Saeki, an English teaser at Morimiya High School, as well as the Xiphone’s “Other World Search App” used to discover gates to the Other World, and protagonist Kou’s three special parameters.

Get the details below.

Goro Saeki (voiced by Toshiyuki Morikawa)

gZVB6pF.jpg
28 years old. A handsome, temporary lecturer at Morimiya High School with a body comparable to that of a model. He teaches English.

In addition to his good looks, he is very intelligent and has a unique sense of humor. Following his new appointment at the school, he became immediately popular among its female students.

In the beginning, the boys of the school were jealous of the teacher, but given his openhearted character and lack of discrimination between his male and female students, he’s proven difficult to hate, and is gradually gaining the trust of his male students.

Goro’s hobbies include mountain climbing, and on his days off, doing field work at various historic sites. He’s a bit of an outdoor enthusiast.

Xiphone “Other World Search” App

nSKVTcw.jpg

To progress the story, Kou and friends will explore the Other World. After school, when Kou heads for his part-time jobs, players can freely explore Morimiya City, and head for the Other World using their “Other World Search” app on their Xiphone.

It works like this:

1. When you reach an area where there is an undiscovered gate to the Other World in Morimiya City, an indication for the Other World Search App will appear in the upper left corner of the screen.
2. The percentage on the indicator will continue to rise until it reaches its MAX value (100%) as you get closer to a gate point to the Other World.
3. When the counter reaches its MAX value, you’ll be able to open a gate using the L trigger.
4. By entering the gate, you’ll begin the game’s action parts.

Special Parameters: Wisdom / Courage / Compassion

nSKVTcw.jpg
Tokyo Xanadu‘s protagonist Kou has three special parameters that will gradually increase by clearing different conditions. By increase their values, you can level up, acquire rare items, and trigger special events. Additionally, these parameters will impact the main story.

Wisdom – The parameter representing Kou’s ability to understand the nature of things and determine the truth. It will rise based on the actions Kou takes during the game’s main events, as well as through the use of special items.
Courage – The parameter representing Kou’s brave character. It will rise based on raising certain results during the game’s action parts.
Compassion – The parameter representing Kou’s relationship with others. It will rise by deepening your exchanges with your friends and the people of Morimiya City.

Tokyo Xanadu is due out for PS Vita in Japan on September 30.
