Planetside 2 launching on PS4 on June 23

Hey everyone. After months of intense beta testing, I’m excited to announce that PlanetSide 2 will be launching on PlayStation 4 on 23rd June 2015 in Europe and North America!

For those of you unfamiliar with the game, you’re in for a wild ride! PlanetSide 2 is a revolutionary massive scale first-person shooter where soldiers battle as one in strategic, targeted missions against enemy Empires in an all-out planetary war.

Massive communities with unwavering camaraderie band together in PlanetSide 2 as the game challenges the skill and grit of the most seasoned soldier through intense infantry, air and ground vehicle gameplay. Victory requires strategic teamwork and a quick trigger finger to survive the enormous battles.
To give you an idea of just how massive our battles really are in PlanetSide 2, we recently set a Guinness World Record for the most players online in a single FPS battle, with 1,158 players in a single fight! The game is synonymous with large-scale warfare and it’s truly an experience you have to see to believe. Plus, as a free-to-play game, all players can jump into the game’s massive battles for free – no PlayStation Plus membership required.

We’ve put a lot of effort into streamlining and improving the feature set so that PlayStation 4 players will have the ultimate massive-scale, FPS gaming experience. We’ve also incorporated some unique features that are currently exclusive to the PS4 version, which for example, include the new battle map, Koltyr. We will continue to further improve and enhance the gameplay experience after launch as well. In the weeks and months following the release on 23/6, players can look forward to frequent game updates, which will include deeper features, holiday events and content, new in-game marketplace items and much, much more.
On behalf of the PlanetSide 2 development team, we’d like to thank the tens of thousands of players that have taken part in the closed beta testing. Because of you, we’ve been able to make a ton of refinements to the game that otherwise wouldn’t have been possible without your valuable feedback.

We’re excited to finally bring the game to the PlayStation 4 so the console gaming community can experience what truly massive warfare is all about!

We’ll see you on Auraxis!

Planetside 2? Boah nach der Beta, kann man nur hoffen das es überhaupt nicht erscheint! Fremdschäm Game  :-P

Corpse Party: Blood Drive Will Likely Be Uncensored In The West, Says Xseed

Last week, Xseed announced that Corpse Party: Blood Drive is coming to North America, and the publisher has now shared a few more details via their blog.

Xseed say that there will no censorship in Corpse Party: Blood Drive, barring any complications from the ESRB, which they aren’t expecting. Should any unforeseen complications arise, they will be discussed via social media. Xseed also add that they’re aware Europeans want the game, and while they have nothing to announce at the moment, they haven’t forgotten Europe.

Finally, here’s a little more information on the two-disc soundtrack that will come with the limited edition of Corpse Party: Blood Drive:

The 2-disc musical selections CDs will contain music from Corpse Party,Corpse Party: Book of Shadows and Corpse Party: Blood Drive alike. Regrettably, it will not contain any music from Corpse Party 2U, nor will it contain the full soundtrack to the original title (only BGM tracks that were specifically arranged for the PSP version), but it will contain the full original BGM soundtrack toCorpse Party: Book of Shadows, as well as the entire BGM soundtrack from Corpse Party: Blood Drive. It’s unknown at this time whether or not any of the vocal themes from these titles will be included, but… we’re trying!

Corpse Party: Blood Drive will be available in North America this Fall. Xseed will have a playable build of the game at E3 this year.

Hatoful Boyfriend: Holiday Star coming to PS4, PS Vita, and PC this fall

Devolver Digital is bringing Hatoful Boyfriend: Holiday Star, the prequel to Hatoful Boyfriend, on PlayStation 4, PS Vita, and PC this fall, the publisher announced.

The remastered followup was first released in Japan in 2011, with an English patch released a year later. It follows Anghel Higure, one of the original game’s love interests, who possesses the psychic ability to bring situations in the real world into a fantasy RPG-like scenario. Unlike the first game, Holiday Star is entirely a visual novel, meaning there are no choices for the player to make other than to follow through the story.

“While we would have loved to create an all-new franchise with our friends at Mediatonic, investing $350,000 in bird motion capture gear limits our options,” said Devolver Digital CFO Fork Parker.

Back in November, Devolver Digital announced that the original Hatoful Boyfriend was also coming to PlayStation 4 and PS Vita. That’s due out this summer, the publisher confirmed.

Tokyo Xanadu Introduces A Few Classmates Of The Protagonist

While Kou and his friends aren’t fighting in the Other World, they’ll spend time at school, where you’ll meet some of the more “normal” friends. The official website introduces us to three close friends of Tokyo Xanadu protagonist, Kou.

Shori Kurashiki:

Q1uvphg.jpg

Shiori is a 17-year-old classmate of Kou’s, and is a childhood friend that lives in his neighborhood. She’s a bit more on the conservative side as far as personality goes, but she’s also strong-hearted. She takes care of Kou like a mother, especially knowing that he’s been living on his own.

5u4hbSy.jpg

She’s been living the everyday school life with Kou and the others, but one day, she gets involved in an incident with the Other World.

Ryota Ibuki:

0rHJcKc.jpg

Ryota is the 17-year-old friend that has been friends with Kou and close to Shiori since their elementary school days. He’s a very healthy young man who dreams of a rosy high school life. He’s part of the kendo club, but often skips it, since he prioritizes going out with friends.

nad51t7.jpg

He has a nice personality and is sociable, but he has a problem of not being able to find himself a girlfriend, since he ends up just being called a “good guy,” and it never goes further than that.

Jun Kohinata:

Bfh8qxU.jpg

Jun is a 16-year-old classmate of Kou’s. He has a baby face to go with a small build, and since he’s sometimes mistaken as a girl, they often find him cute. He can be shy at times, but once he makes friends, he’ll freely speak his mind.

W0Cz8WK.jpg

Jun was classmates with Kou and Ryota during their first year, so they became friends, and you can often see the three together at school. He’s a bit of an otaku, so he knows a lot about the latest anime and subcultures.

Tokyo Xanadu will release in Japan on September 30, 2015 for PlayStation Vita.

Famitsu this week reveals Grand Kingdom, a new tactical RPG for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita from Grand Knights History director Tomohiko Deguchi due out later this year in Japan.

Set in a royal fantasy world of swords and magic, players will wage turn-based battles by commanding their own mercenaries. Four major powers are competing for dominance, and the player can choose which country it would like its mercenary group to support.

Online multiplayer is supported (it’s actually listed as an “online RPG,” but also supports offline) against players belonging to any of the four major powers. There is also a system to expand your territory through repeated invasion and defense.

Grand Kingdom will also feature fully voiced characters and conversation scenes with various animations. The following characters have been announced:

Gladius Ringland (voiced by Ryoka Yuzuki)
Preshia Tera (voiced by Miho Arakawa)
Julius Wiseman (voiced by Shintaro Asanuma)
Grahm Berngaldo (voiced by Kenjiro Tsuda)

Our source notes that although the game is similar to Grand Knights History, there is no direct relation, story and system-wise.

The game’s staff is as follows:

Character Design – Chizu Hashii
Sound – Basiscape
Developer – MonoChro (Deguchi’s company)
Publisher – Spike Chunsoft

Development is currently 65 percent complete.

Tokyo Xanadu adds new character Rion

Dengeki PlayStation this week reveals Rion Kugayama the seventh playable character to join Tokyo Xanadu.

Rion, voiced by Manami Numakura, uses a pair of wings as her weapon and has the wind attribute. She is 17 years old, a member of the popular idol group “SPiKA,” and is a bit of a devil in both looks and attitude. Armed with the skillful ability to sing, she is always getting into quarrels with her close friend and rival over who takes the center of SPiKA. Contrary to her easy-going appearance, she’s actually a hard worker. She puts her heart and soul into her idol work, and does not hide the fact that she’s an idol at school. She shows her true colors when she’s on her own, but if someone else sees this side of her, she gets defiant with them.

Her normal wing attack is performed by rotating her body and sending out a shock wave. Its range is narrow, but it’s troublesome for the enemies it strikes.

Here’s an overview of Rion’s skills:
Shooting Skill: “Brilliant Ray” – A homing attack with lock-on.
Flight Skill: “Sonic Wing” – Triggers a shock wave behind Rion as she takes high-speed flight, and only consumes a small amount of the skill gauge.
Strength Skill: “Sylphy Cyclone” – Creates a huge tornado. If triggered at a close distance, it will have a multi-stage hit.
Cross Strike: “Seraphim Hearts” – While freely moving around the enemy, Rion unleashes a countless number of homing lasers.

Other members of SPiKA include (names to be confirmed):
Reika Kisaragi (voiced by Ayaka Suwa) – 17 years old. One of the initial members of SPiKA and an acquaintance of Rion from their training school days. She has good style and is also a model.
Wakaba Sodeki (voiced by Ari Ozawa) – 15 years old. A second age member of SPiKA. She’s a courageous and kind girl.
Hana Tendou (voiced by Aya Suzaki) – 17 years old. One of the initial members of SPiKA, she’s a girl with black hair who has a tidy air about her. Thanks to her talent as an performer, there are rumors she is being selected as a commercial actress for a large company.
Sayaka Nanase (voiced by Mutsumi Tamura) – 15 years old. A girl with boyish behavior and a close friend of Wakaba.

Tokyo Xanadu is due out for PS Vita in Japan on September 30.

Sword Art Online Re: Hollow Fragment lets you edit female characters, too

Famitsu this week has a new interview with Sword Art Online game series producer Yosuke Futami, who discusses the upcoming Sword Art Online Re: Hollow Fragment for PlayStation 4.

Get the quotes below.

What’s changed in Sword Art Online Re: Hollow Fragment?

Futami: “We added an online mode rather than ad-hoc. And now not only can you edit Kirito, but you can also edit the female characters.”

Are there new Sword Art Online series games planned?

“I’d like you to guess based on the fact that we’re putting these [Re: Hollow Fragment and Sword Art Online: Lost Song] out on PS4. (Laughs.)

“Before, I’d said that if Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment reached over 200,000 sales, I wanted to put out a sequel. But I’ve yet to talk about the details. We’re going to make the sequel, so please wait in anticipation.”

Sword Art Online Re: Hollow Fragment is due out for PlayStation 4 as a digital download title this summer.

Ore ni Hatarakette Iwaretemo Tori announced for PS Vita

Famitsu this week reveals Ore ni Hatarakette Iwaretemo Tori for PS Vita.

The RPG, a followup to Ore ni Hatarakette Iwaretemo Otsu, sees its hikkikomori (shut-in) protagonist dispatch adventurers to earn his money for him.

While the game’s characters and setting are completely new, its basic systems remain the same as its predecessor. Players can form a group of five adventurers plus three support for a party total of eight characters. Your adventurers’ ranks are apparently important.

Your landlord, whose full name is “Rabiati Hiperium Enbrioma Oushijium Granim Oupatrium Jigotaper Yupatorim Makuratsumu” (voiced by Eriko Matsui), is a female high school student and the granddaughter of the previous game’s landlord Lilium.

A release date was not yet announced. Like its predecessor, it looks to be a downloadable title.

Outside of the new game, the magazine also reveals that Ore ni Hatarakette Iwaretemo Otsu HD for PS Vita will be a free PlayStation Plus title in Japan this month.
