PS4/PS5/Vita The Games of PLAYSTATION

World Trigger: Borderless Mission trailer coming next month

World Trigger: Borderless Mission for PS Vita and World Trigger: Smash Borders for smartphones will get their first trailers during a Shinjuku Wald 9 event on May 2, Bandai Namco announced.

The PS Vita game was announced in December, and the smartphone game followed in March. Famitsu has the first direct-feed images of the former.

Doors for the event will open at 20:30. Entry costs 6,600 yen. The program includes a talk show featuring the voice actors, a show where the voice actors play the game, a raffle, and a digest airing of the anime.

Utawarerumono 3 scenario already in production

After Utawarerumono: False Mask, which is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PS Vita in Japan this September, another Utawarerumono will follow, according to producer Naoya Shimokawa.

Speaking in this week’s Famitsu, Shimokawa said Utawarerurmono was conceived as a three-part project.

“Four years ago, we announced [the sequel] with the provisional and straightforward title Utawarerumono 2 (now Utawarerumono: False Mask),” Shimokawa said, “but since this is one act in a big Three Kingdoms-like historical tale, I didn’t feel comfortable titling the sequels 2 and 3. So, to break history into fragments, we decided to use subtitles.”

Shimokawa added that the scenario team is already finished working on Utawarerumono: False Mask and are beginning the scenario for the third game.

“One and a half to two years after the second game is released, we’ll certainly release the third game,” Shimokawa said.

Also in this week’s magazine, Aquaplus confirmed it will hold its very own “Big Aquaplus Festival” on November 28 and 29, featuring various Aquaplus-related artists and voice actors, and surely a look at the company’s upcoming games.

Death Under the Labyrinth story and characters detailed

Compile Heart has opened the official website for Death Under the Labyrinth, its upcoming PS Vita dungeon RPG part of the Makai Ichiban Kan brand.

The website offers details on the game’s story and characters.

Find the details below.

Story

One day, the stars stopped rotating.

Because of this, the world was covered in darkness, and it became a world plunged into perpetual dark, with monsters abound lurking about.

To return the world to its original state, it is necessary to wind the screw that controls the rotation of the stars.

Estra, a Makaishi (demon machine soldier) girl, bands together with the Guardians to conquer the four towers guarded by the Protector Gods.

There’s the five chosen Makaishi, the dark Saneishu (three shadow people), and the Meitakiryuu (mysterious dragons).

Overcome a variety of challenges and bring back light to the world.

Estra and the Guardians’ adventure begins now.

Makaishi and Guardians

The people who descended from the stars are known as Makaishi, and have the ability to use a mysterious power known as “demon machine arts.” Makaishi can also make use of robots known as Guardians.

Southern Cross and the Four Towers

The Makaishi revere at a sacred city known as the Southern Cross. It’s a city built in the shape of a cross, and features a Yellow Temple at its core. Additionally, there is a Blue Tower, White Tower, Crimson Tower, and Black Tower at its four sides, and their interiors are thought to be connected to the demon world.

Characters

Estra (voiced by Ayaka Ohashi) – The protagonist and one of the five chosen Makaishi. Best with earth element demon machine arts, she can’t avoid a person in need, and is both curious and a girl who takes action.
Flea (voiced by Sora Amamiya) – One of the five chosen Makaishi. Specializing in fire element demon machine arts, she’s determined, strong, confident, trigger-happy, and proud. She’s also a rival to Estra and the other girls.
Connie (voiced by Sora Tokui) – One of the five chosen Makaishi. Good with wood element demon machine arts, she’s an innocent and healthy girl, and the mood maker of the group.
Maki (voiced by Mai Kadowaki) – One of the five chosen Makaishi. Her best demon machine arts attribute is “gold.” She is clearheaded, calm, cool, and collected, as well as an honors student. The mission to reconstitute the stars is especially important to her, and she acts as an advice-giving older sister-like character to Estra.
Sethia (voiced by Chinatsu Akasaki) – One of the five chosen Makaishi. Her demon machine arts attribute of choice is “water.” She’s a shy bookworm who lacks confidence. She has a negative attitude and is always studying the expressions of others.

Death Under the Labyrinth is still to be dated.

Metropolis Defenders debut trailer, prologue

Acquire has released the debut trailer and detailed the prologue for its upcoming PlayStation 3 and PS Vita defense game Zettai Geigeki Wars: Metropolis Defenders.

The game puts players in control of a fortress city surrounded by rings, each rotatable like a turntable. The rings must be turned to properly fortify the city and ward off enemies when they appear. As you progress, you’ll be able to further develop and strengthen your city.

Here’s the game’s prologue, via Famitsu:

Altanight. An underground resource that appeared after the “Invisible End,” which was intended to be the final refuge for the many whose lives were destroyed. However, a gigantic life-form soon emerged, and even the Altanight was snatched away.

Then, about a half century later…

After a great deal of sacrifice from our predecessors, us humans finally became able to construct a city that can defend against the enemy. In order to move towards the future, and in order to destroy the enemy, we must expand the city and continue to protect the people.

The game is due out in Japan on July 2 for 6,480 yen on PlayStation 3 and 5,980 yen on PS Vita. Pre-orders include a soundtrack CD, visual book, and downloadable content.

Natsuiro High School screenshots detail hairdos, fishing, and guest character

D3 Publisher has released a new set of Natsuiro High School: Seishun Hakusho screenshots, showcasing the ability to change the protagonist’s hairdo, fishing, a familiar guest character, and the suspicious chairman of Yumegashima High School.

Get the information below.

Customize Your Hairdo

At Barber Baba’s barbershop on Main Street in Yumegashima, players can customize the protagonist’s hairdo and hair color. Choose between a number of variations to suit your style. Barber Baba also offer suggestions on what styles to go with, should you be unable to make up your mind.

Fishing

Fishing is fun. For those of you who want to fish all day, this is your dream come true. During the three months you spend on Yumegashima, you’ll be able to fish in various locations.

The controls are easy. Just raise the fishing rod when you see the floater acting up. Look out for the little-known fishing spots and you might reel in something strange.

Fish for CDs

On occasion, you’ll be able to catch music CDs as you fish, too. When caught, the music on the CD will immediately enter your smartphone. There are a lot of songs to collect, so get fishing.

Buy an Item, Sell It, or Get It Appraised

In a small antique shop on Main Street in Yumegashima, players will be able to purchase and sell items. The items you buy here might not be strictly necessary for your playthrough, but they may still come in handy. Additionally, items you own but don’t want can be sold for money.

Sell the Fish You Caught

Since the fish you catch go rotten as time passes, it is recommended you sell them early. Sometimes, you’ll be able to get mysterious items for them, too. For such items, you’ll be able to identify these unknown items by carrying out “Appraisal Requests” by the antique shop.

Characters

Riho Futaba (voiced by Yuko Goto) – From the Dream Club series comes this gravure idol on the verge of her big break. She’s recently been putting her efforts into the release of her CD. She’s visiting Yumegashima for the first time for the high school’s culture festival, where she will perform a secret concert. She was born on December 20, is blood type B, 160cm tall, and her three sizes are B95, W59, and H65. She is bright and cheerful, and a little spontaneous. She also seems to enjoy snowboarding and dieting.

Yumegashima Senior High School Board Chairman (voiced by Takaya Kuroda) – His age is unknown. As the board chairman and principal of Yumegashima High School, he doesn’t show up in public most of the time. He appears to be a suspicious person, and his ‘suspicious person gauge’ is surely at the MAX state. His speech and condut are also a little suspicious. Apparently, his position as the board chairman is something passed down successively in his family, but his identity is shrouded in complete mystery. Apparently, he has several acquaintances on the island.

Natsuiro High School: Seishun Hakusho is due out for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 on June 4 in Japan.

Moe Chronicle launches in English on May 5

Genkai Tokki Moero Chronicle, the followup to Monster Monpiece, launched for PS Vita in Japan in May 2014. And on May 5 this year, you’ll be able to play the Compile Heart dungeon RPG in English with the release of the Asian edition, which is simply titled Moe Chronicle.

The Asian release has both Chinese and English subtitles, and retains the Japanese version’s original, uncensored experience.

Play-Asia is selling it for $42.99, but you can get it for a straight $39.99 by using this coupon.

Find a gameplay video and Play-Asia’s full description below.

Moe Chronicle is Compile Heart’s Dungeon RPG follow-up to Monster Monpiece – including Compile Heart’s risqué, and apt, description of a “rubbing, pinching, panty-wearing RPG.”

The story follows Io, a young boy troubled by his profane and arguably perverted thoughts, which affects his ability to comfortably interact with the opposite sex.

His relationship with his confidant and only real friend, a beautiful monster girl named Lilia, creates some tension when the world starts experiencing natural disasters and hostility from the other monster girls!

With rumors of a “Legendary Monster Girl” bent on world destruction starts to circulate, mankind is forced to take a stand. Io must now investigate the origins of the occurring phenomena, taking his childhood monster girl friend along with him on a sexy adventure into the world of monsters.

Featuring a classic 3D dungeon crawling JPRG experience with a lot of fan service, players will be able to delve deeply into dungeons with a party of gorgeous anime styled monster girls and engage in exciting tactical battle with a focus like no other game; players can target and exploit the weak spots of enemy monster girls, with an outfit degradation mechanic accompanied with an appropriate animation.

As well, since Moe Chronicle is the follow up to Monster Monpiece, the notorious “vertical rubbing” mechanic returns, improved with more over the top sounds, animations, and poses – used for capturing the hearts of the many monster girls that players will encounter.

Babakiri specializes in direct, large sword attacks. He both speaks and is strict like a man of the military, and is chide when it comes to speaking with Ichiya.

Kyle’s Yorigami Ansara (voiced by Nobuya Mine)

Ansara specializes in medium-range attacks with a crossbow. Though he’s one to often spew a lot of troubling remarks, he understands Kyle and, when necessary, pushes him forward along his journey.

Nil’s Yorigami Kukurukan (voiced by Mitsuki Nakae)

Kukurukan specializes in long-distance magic attacks and assistance. She carries the air of a high-class woman about her, one that knows little of the world at large. Though she mainly intends to supervise Nil as she goes about her work, there are times where she’s especially keen on fighting together. As such, their personalities are highly complimentary with one another.

All three of the Yorigami are pictured on the game’s box art.

Battle Distances

When you’re fighting against a Gigant, the viewpoint will change depending on how far away your characters are from the enemy. There are three distances you can fight at: short distance, middle distance, and long distance.

Short Distance

When fighting at the short distance, you’ll need to make use of short-range weapons like swords and axes. Do battle with physical attacks.

Middle Distance

When fighting at the middle distance, you’re further away from the range of the Gigants’ physical attacks and you’ll need to make use of mid-range actions like magic to strike the enemy, as well as assist those in the short distance.

Long Distance

When fighting at the long distance, you’re furthest away from the Gigant, and can use rifles and lay traps on the battlefield, as well as assist those in the middle and short distances.

Loki

Loki is a Gigant boss that appears during Kyle’s chapter.

Best Buy lists Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere of Influence for PS4

Nobunaga’s Ambition: Souzou, or what we’ve previously translated as Nobunaga’s Ambition: Creation, might be getting localized for PlayStation 4.

A Best Buy listing for a PlayStation 4 game called Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere of Influence surfaced today. Given that there’s only one Nobunaga’s Ambition title for PlayStation 4, it’s safe to assume this is the localized title for Creation.

The game, which launched in Japan in December 2013, is also available for PlayStation 3, PS Vita, and PC, though Best Buy doesn’t list these versions.

We’ve contacted Koei Tecmo for comment.
