Free-to-play idol game Venus Project announced for PS Vita

Magica Wars: Zanbatsu developer Galat is developing a new free-to-play idol training game for PS Vita called Venus Project, this week’s Famitsu reveals.

Due out in Japan in late April, the game will have you training idols and competing in performance battles with other idols as you guide them to becoming top idol. You’ll be able to raise your “Idol Power” with support characters and items (micro-transactions are, of course, a feature), which will prove advantageous in battle.

Three main idols have been revealed:

Karen Takano (voiced by Ami Himesaki)
Yuu Kashima (voiced by Ruka Nemoto)
Mizuki Sarashina (voiced by Rui Tanabe)

Bokosuka Girls reveals new teacher character

V3 has revealed a new character set to appear in its Tatsunoko Productions-themed PS Vita action game Bokosuka Girls: Tatsunoko Gakuen Climax.

The game follows a group of high school girls with their sights set on becoming idols. But after evil Dokuro Wear begins circulating the school, the girls must equip J-Suits and take on the power of Tatsunoko heroes to strip those of Dokuro Wear and save the world from crisis.

Newly revealed today is Ayaka Hachisuka, a teacher whose J-Suit is of Hutch the Honeybee from The Adventures of Hutch the Honeybee. Here’s her description:

A teacher who’s believed to have forgotten her real name. Though it initially appears as though details of her life will come back to her if she watches over her students, progress is slow and hard to come by. As she counsels her students on their troubles, though, she remembers little bits and pieces, like the person she owes her life to, her heart twinging all the while. As someone who’s fit for J-Suits, she keeps hers tucked away deep inside her wardrobe.

Bokosuka Girls is due out in Japan later this year.

Natsuiro High School Japanese release date set

Natsuiro High School: Seishun Hakusho will launch for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in Japan on June 4, this week’s issue of Famitsu reveals.

The PlayStation 4 version will cost 7,480 yen, while the PlayStation 3 version will cost 500 yen less at 6,980 yen.

In addition to the release date, the magazine contains details on how a typical day plays out in the open-world love adventure game.

Morning

Check your calendar for plans. If the the date has a heroine icon, that’s the mark of a related event that will occur that day.

Afternoon

Talk to the islanders, receive quests, and take photographs. When sliding and jumping to set up your shot, you can trigger the special ability “Accel Action Mode,” which slows down the game world and makes it easy to capture the best photo. However, if you perform perverted acts and your “Suspicious Person Gauge” increases, the police will chase you down. Get caught often enough and you’ll be suspended from school.

Evening

Organize the photos you took and reply to your e-mails. The photos you choose not to keep will be erased. You can only respond to e-mails from that day, and there are also events that will be triggered by reading e-mails.

Im Fall von Ori besitzt Microsoft aber die IP. Bastion und sowas waren ganz andere Fälle, wo man teilweise eigentlich nur Publisher war.

Hoffe ich ja. Sie haben sich zum Glück auch andere Konsolen offen gelassen und da sie Unity benutzen sollte der Port dann auch nicht solange dauern. ^^

Also Ori and the blind Forest wird ja von einem deutschen Team programmiert. Und einer der Entwickler hat im Maniac Forum geschrieben, daß MS die Entwicklung bezahlt, deswegen ist eine PS4 Umsetzung eher unwahrscheinlich. Aber spätere Projekte können natürlich auf der PS4 erscheinen, dazu wurden auch Konzeptzeichnungen gepostet.

05.03.15 - Wired Productions geben bekannt, dass sich der Co-Op-Dungeon-Prügler Super Dungeon Bros in Entwicklung befindet. Dafür arbeitet Wired mit den Spieleentwicklern von React! Games in Salt Lake City, Utah (USA), zusammen.

Super Dungeon Bros ist ein Kampfspiel mit Co-Op-Modus für Teams von bis zu vier Spielern. Der Spieler hat das Sagen in einer Rockband, die in den Verliesen von Rökheim gefährlichen Widersachern, tödlichen Hindernissen und riskanten Herausforderungen gegenübersteht.

Außerdem wird es eine Einzelspielerkampagne geben. Release: TBA (Europa)

Tokyo Xanadu screenshots introduce protagonists

Falcom has released a new set of Tokyo Xanadu screenshots detailing the PS Vita modern day action RPG’s two protagonists.

A 17-year-old second year student at Morimiya High School. Though brusque in his mannerisms, he’s not unfriendly towards others and is an archetypal modern day student all around. His parents are spending an extended period working overseas, meaning that he lives alone starting that spring.

Unaffiliated with any school clubs, he helps out at a number of part-time jobs and in spite of his personality on the face of things, when he sees someone in trouble, he’ll stick his neck out to help them, which is known to land him in trouble, as is the case when he sees Asuka that fateful night.

Kou’s 17-year-old classmate and a returnee from the US.

Though she has the treasured trifecta of good looks, great grades, and superb reflexes and is well regarded and trusted by her fellow students, it’s all merely an act.

Galat has fully detailed its free-to-play PS Vita idol training game Venus Project following its announcement in this week’s Famitsu.

Not only is a game in the works, but a web comic and TV anime are also planned, as well as a live event and radio broadcast later this year.

The PS Vita game is an idol training game that uses a card and command input system. Players partake in versus-style performance battles in order to win popularity as they support the growth of their budding idols.

Here’s the official story outline:

In near future Japan, worldwide news terminals and video technology have seen massive growth, and everybody is enthusiastic about a new form of entertainment.

“Formula Venus.”

Commonly referred to as “F-V,” this new form of entertainment sees select top-tier idols pitting their strength, skills, and all of their experience into live performance battles to see who among them ranks as the best.

The dramatic story of Venus Project sees a group of girls who get tickets to the titular Venus Project aiming to become the best idols themselves, throwing themselves into intense battles, working and fighting hard to attain victory even amidst friends.

Three characters have been revealed. While Galat hasn’t shared profiles for the idols, the developer has shared quotes for each.

From left to right:

Karen Takano (voiced by Ami Himesaki) – “I’ve got an ace in the hold attack prepared! You better be ready!”
Mitsuki Sarashina (voiced by Rui Tanabe) – “Your singing won’t last until the end. Two seconds before entering melody B, you’ll fall off the stage.”
Yuu Kashima (voiced by Ruka Nemoto) – “Oh, Karen, just in time! Hehe, look! This scone’s in the shape of a kitty cat!”

Natsuiro High School first-print bonus announced

First-print copies Natsuiro High School: Seishun Hakusho in Japan will include a “Mini Bikini Golden Ball” set of costumes, D3 Publisher announced.

The costumes, which the girls of Natsuiro High School can wear, are glittering gold bikinis that use minimal cloth and are very eco friendly. Wear them on the beach to take gravure photos.

Das Eröffnungsvideo zu Makai Shin Trillion

Compile Heart hat das Eröffnungsvideo zu Makai Shin Trillion veröffentlicht. Der Leiter des Projektes ist Masahiro Yamamoto (Zettai Hero Project, Disgaea 4, The Guided Fate Paradox). Das Kernthema des Rollenspiels ist der Kampf zwischen dem Protagonisten Zeabolos und seinem Erzfeind Trillion. In einem älteren Artikel wurde bereits die Vorgehensweise der Schlachten kurz beschrieben.

Der Held tritt nicht alleine gegen den Bösewicht an, der eine gigantische Anzahl an Lebenspunkten besitzt. Er erhält Unterstützung von Dämonenlords, die alle einer der sieben Todsünden entsprechen. In Japan wird der Titel am 21. Mai für PlayStation Vita erscheinen.
