Ih glaube nicht das man aufnehmen kann. Das Angebot an Filmen wird wohl anfangs eher mau sein, von Rohlingen ganz zu schweigen.

Man sehe sich die UMD Filme an, sind mittlerweile mwhr als genug zum launch in Palien angekündigt, das ist imo kein prob.

ja, aber bis auf die großen Kinofilme (die ich mir herer selten hole) ist da noch nicht viel dabei - ach ja, es gab ja noch Pornos (sorry, das musste jetzt sein ).

Ja, das wäre es allerdings.

1x BR Rom = 54 Mbits/s = 6,75 MB/s

Mit einem 2 fach BR Laufwerk wäre man gleichauf mit einem 12 fachen DVD Laufwerk.

Ein 4 faches BR Laufwerk wäre das Maximum was man erwarten darf.

Blu-ray technology transfers at 54.0Mbps at 1X speed, or about 6.75MB per second. If the PlayStation 3 needed to load 128MB at the start of a level, it would take nearly 19 seconds (assuming nothing is cached on a HDD). 2X or even 4X speeds would cut this time down either by 1/2 or by 1/4.

As Blu-ray drives aren't really available to the public yet (aside from a handful of pre-final parts in Japan), coupled with the price of the drives, we expect the PlayStation 3's drive to run at 1X (but the official speed is still forthcoming).

TDK hat sogar schon 6x BR Brenner im Labor. Es sollte schon ein mindestens 2 fach BR Laufwerk in der PS3 stecken.

Hoffentlich. Wenn die PS3 schon soviel wie ein Kleinwagen kostet dann bitte auch mit vernünftigem Laufwerksspeed

Ich kann mich noch gut daran erinnern, dass auf der PK die Rede war von 6fach Blue Ray Laufwerk. (mit dem 8fachen habe ich mich geiirt)

Eventuel könnte es sich um eine Verwechsulng handeln, da ja eine BR exakt 6mal größer ist als eine DVD.

hmm 6.75MB/sec bei 1x speed... würde mal behaupten die ps3 bekommt mind. ein 2x speed. sonst ist sie wirklich nur als blu-ray player geeignet

mit hdd wäre das ganze natürlich viel weniger schlimm, da lädt man doch einfach im hintergrud das benötigte 'zeug' zuerst auf die hdd und von da dann in den arbeitsspeicher...

Ja, das mit dem 6 mal war auf die größe des Mediums bezogen.

kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass sie ein 1Fach Blu Ray drive kriegt, das wäre ja abartig langsam! Das entspricht ziemlich genau einem 5 fach DVD Laufwerk.

Ich denke mal ein 4 fach blu ray wird schon drinnen sein, sonst nützen auch die 50GB daten recht wenig, ladeschirme will ich in der nächsten generation wirklich nicht sehn!

Microsoft sees Xbox 360 in driver's seat

Bill Gates said he's happy with the Xbox 360--even though some detractors claim the system is slower than the PS3.

REDMOND, Wash.--In a meeting with financial analysts at Microsoft's headquarters, company head honcho Bill Gates opined about the upcoming battle between his company's Xbox 360 and Sony's PlayStation 3.

"Our view is basically: We've got a Ferrari. They've got a Ferrari," Gates said in a question-and-answer session Thursday. "Our Ferrari is leaving the starting line substantially before their Ferrari is, and, in most races, that's a very nice thing."

Microsoft's Xbox 360 is due to go on sale this holiday season in the United States, Europe, and Japan. Meanwhile, Sony's PlayStation 3, with its powerful Cell processor, is slated to arrive next spring.

Gates noted that the last time around [when the PlayStation 2 was released ahead of the Xbox], Microsoft was beaten to the punch and said overall sales suffered as a result.

"We tried it the other way last time," Gates said.

Robbie Bach, the Microsoft senior vice president who heads up the Xbox, said he doesn't see Sony having a demonstrable advantage with its hardware.

"They're going to be a little faster in a few areas; we're going to be a little faster in a few areas," Bach said. "The net result from a hardware perspective is going to be kind of a toss-up."

A Sony representative was not immediately available for comment.

Bach said that Microsoft should also benefit from greater developer support this time around, saying the company's easy developer tools are its "secret sauce." Developers have expressed some concern about the escalating costs of developing console video games.

Bach said there are 160 games in development for the Xbox 360, with 25 to 40 expected to be released this year, including around 15 at launch.

The analysts got to see a demo of one of those games in the works: Project Gotham Racing 3, which is being published by Microsoft.

However, the analysts didn't get to drive the console for themselves. The one Xbox 360 console on display was underneath a thick plastic display case, a disappointment to more than a few in the Wall Street crowd.

Wird ihnen aber imo nicht viel nützen das sie es wissen denn imo ist das nur schleimscheißerei weil die doch tatsächlich die PSP mit der 360 kompatibel machen wollen und auch deswegen schleimen. Die können es sich in dem sektor einfach noch nicht leisten eine große fresse zu haben.
