More Details Revealed on ‘One Piece Film: Gold’ Tesoro Character Design
The newest issue of the Japanese magazine VJump, officially on sale Jan. 21, gave a bit more information on the possible antagonist of the upcoming movie ‘One Piece Film: Gold‘ — Gild Tesoro.
While this particular character design page of Tesoro had previously been partially revealed, this time VJump has given its readers the opportunity to see the rest of these drawings made by One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda himself.
We already knew that Gild Tesoro is wearing a “generally pink ensemble” with a “light pink rose” attached to his jacket and sunglasses with winged rims. Furthermore, on his jacket we can see a chain hanging around his breast pocket with a star-shaped pin; a motif also used in Tesoro’s four previously revealed crew mates’ ensembles and in the new upcoming movie’s title itself.
This time, we can also see what is most likely the ominous origin of this star-shaped motif: a giant scar on Tesoro’s back. Am I the only one who thinks Luffy and Tesoro might share a common enemy when looking at both individuals scar on each side of their body? Furthermore, Oda also notes that Tesoro wears rings with “no particular designs” on each of his fingers “with exception of his left ring finger” (which doesn’t wear a ring). A possible reminder related to his big battle scar he has on his back (and the star he dons on his chest)?
Of course, as we already know, the word “tesoro” is Spanish and Italian for “treasure,” while Gild might come from the word “gilding.” His name could also potentially be written as “Guild”, a fitting name for someone who is the “world’s biggest entertainer” and ruler of the world’s biggest floating entertainment city.
If you’re looking to see what Tesoro’s crewmates and “ship” looks like, be sure to check out this post, and also keep checking the One Piece Podcast website as we’ll keep on bringing you any news related to One Piece Film: Gold and other One Piece related news items as they come out!
One Piece episode 732 now has an official Japanese title. The air date to be announced later.
Kazuki Yao, the Japanese actor for our favorite shipwright Franky, tweeted a picture of himself holding a script for One Piece episode 732 in the recording booth. While the air date has not been announced yet, the title for One Piece episode 732 is , 「生か死か 運命のカウントダウン」 “Life or Death — The Countdown of Destiny”.
Judging from the title for One Piece episode 732, the episode is expected to cover some of the content from one of two chapters of the One Piece manga: chapter 788 “My Battle” or chapter 789 “LUCY!!”. Both of these chapters focused heavily on the citizens of Dressrosa and the allied forces desperately trying to push Doflamingo’s Birdcage and trying to buy Luffy as much time as possible in order for him to recover his Haki.
Along with the air date of One Piece episode 732, the complete schedule of the One Piece anime for February 2016 will be unveiled in the March edition of Animage and Newtype magazines, which are set to hit the Japanese retail stores on February 10th.
The episodes scheduled for the next two weeks are as following:
One Piece Episode 728 (January 31): 「
