Nintendo:
- Super Smash Bros. Brawl shown in trailer form at the press conference and shown behind closed doors to select media outlets. Game will be showcased in full during the Tokyo Game Show. Could have a release date of October or November.
- Super Mario Galaxy (coming November) and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (end of August or delayed till September) draws amazing attention and jaw-drops around the press conference room.
- Two new Wii channels announced (Prediction: Wii Ware and a music channel/Nintendo Power Magazine channel?)
- Revised Online Structure: Mii’s possibly now used as a way to give yourself a unique online ID. Animal Crossing could be the first game to feature this, with full online and WiiConnect24 capabilities.
- Mario Kart Wii shown in trailer form or quick mentioning of existence.
- Nintendo mentions “DS 2″ existence by name - no other big details.
- New Wii System and Controller Colors, DVD add-on saved for TGS. New bundling options and/or a new game added to the Wii system package. Price remains the same.
- New Tales game announced for Wii - Tales of Symphonia 2?
- Nintendo unveils Monolith Studios’ secret project, potentially a promising RPG for the Wii, and another project for the DS
- Camelot comes back into the mix with a new RPG for Wii
- Talking with the head honchos myself, there will be no sign of Crossbeam Studios titles at all at E3. Potential details to come out a month after E3, possibly on Rumor Reporter.
- Miyamoto re-mentions helm of Zelda franchise given to Eiji Aonuma.
- Punchout! revival? How about in Smash Bros. Brawl?
- Steven Spielberg showcases his new Wii puzzle game, PQRS.
- Perrin Kaplan, George Harrison, and Beth Llewellyn leaving Nintendo in late August. Not mentioned during E3, other than possible interviews.
- Interviews re-confirming details for Spore Wii and Spore DS. Spore DS will be an objective-based game with 3D graphics. Camera-view is very similar to the PC version. Not coming out until end of 2009.
- Revival of a franchise… something totally out of the blue… something that was a no-brainer from day-one… saved for the better part of the press conference.
