PS4/XOne Kingdom Hearts III

:goodwork:

At one point, when Sora’s growth was maxed out during the game’s development in Osaka, his mobility was so high that he was practically invulnerable.

Nomura takes it personal

Message from Tetsuya Nomura

If I had to pick, I am a person more on the dark side like Xehanort and co., I harness the burning anger in my heart into what I create. Kingdom Hearts III’s current development explodes very much in this sense. Each time, it’s a battle with Sora and co. who are the exact opposite of myself, it’s been over 10 years and yet we haven’t reached a conclusion.

This battle will surely last longer.

In Kingdom Hearts III as well, I am scheming many challenges that Sora and his friends must overcome, because I myself cannot lose either. And in preparation for the great battle that lies ahead, we have this one book that looks back on their entire journey.

When I think about it, I had an explosive mindset when I made the first Kingdom Hearts as well.

Thus when I look back at all the material, I feel that fever again. Fans who will continue the journey so far alongside Sora and his friends will also recall their own feverish enthusiasm. With that passion, we will not lose to darkness, and Sora’s journey will continue onwards.

The journey still continues, but I would be overjoyed if you stuck with us until the very end.

Drei Sachen:

Kingdom Hearts 3 switches to Unreal Engine 4

Tetsuya Nomura finally stepped down from Final Fantasy XV and began working on Kingdom Hearts III last month and the director has already made a crucial change to the game’s development. Kingdom Hearts III will no longer be using the Square Enix ‘Luminous’ engine, the game will now be made using Unreal Engine 4.

As we know, Final Fantasy XV has been in development for almost ten years, perhaps a lot of this time was spent actually getting the engine right, which is why Nomura chose to use Unreal Engine 4 for Kingdom Hearts instead. The engine change could help provide an easier development process.

Speaking with Famitsu, Nomura confirmed the engine change: “Development is steadily proceeding as planned. Due to the impact of changing the game engine to Unreal Engine 4, which we did for various reasons, there is some difficulty rendering images. And with the full support of Epic Games, we’ll be able to progress smoothly.”

Square Enix is no stranger to the Unreal Engine, the publisher’s European studio often utilizes it during development so this isn’t the craziest switch in the world

New Kingdom Hearts III footage shown at Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix launch event

Was wir angeblich sehen werden:

Concept art and models of Gladiator-themed Heartless.
Sora with wings and a Keyblade that transforms into dual guns, which are then combined and further evolved into a cannon.
A revamped “Land of Departure,” returning from , described by KHInsider as “absolutely massive.” The shape of the main building resembles the tower from “Daybreak Town.”
Sora in his Kingdom Hearts II outfit, as well as his Valor transformation.
Sora in a library or study facing a large window with flowing curtains. Chess-like pieces with crown and heart tops line the window.
KHInsider describes the lighting as “stunning,” with Sora “bathed in a soft glow as he stood in front of the window.”
Because the footage is raw and behind the scenes, it is unlikely to be released online anytime soon, according to KHInsider. It is unknown whether this is a statement from a Square Enix rep or KHInsider’s opinion. We’ve contacted Square Enix ourselves to find out.

Marvel and Star Wars are "Not Off-Limits" for Kingdom Hearts 3
http://www.kotaku.co.uk/2014/12/02/marvel-star-wars-limits-kingdom-hearts-3
In an interview in London today, Tai Yasue (co-director and game designer on Kingdom Hearts 3 and the Kingdom Hearts 1.5/2.5 HD remasters) told us that nothing was off-limits for the upcoming Square-Enix/Disney crossover – including Marvel and Star Wars, both of which are acquisitions that Disney has made in the nine years since Kingdom Hearts 2 came out.

“Yeah, I can’t go into specifics, but there’s a LOT of new Disney stuff and we have our plates full,” said Yasue. “Theres a lot to consider - we’re looking at all of Disney, the new ones as well, they have a lot of pull and draw.

“We have to come up with a world that has a lot of originality. We want variety in our new Kingdom Hearts, so we don’t want too many of one sort of world, that would look the same. For each world there has to be some meaning for it, in the plot; in Birth By Sleep, for instance, in the Cinderella scene, the characters learn something specific by relating to Cinderella. Also, gameplay-wise, is that world something that would make gameplay fun? There’s a lot I can’t say, but there’s so much to consider.”

When I asked whether I could safely infer that that Star Wars and Marvel are not off-limits, Yasue confirmed that they are being considered. “Well, yeah. They’re all under consideration,” he said. “Nothing’s off-limits, we’re considering all of the worlds. There are so many wonderful concepts. We’re happy about that, but at the same time it’s really tough to choose.”

Dies deutete Director Tai Yasue gegenüber 4Gamer an.
