Nintendo Fails Greenpeace Test Again
By Susan Arendt March 19, 2008 | 10:17:30 AMCategories: Business Matters
Nintendo has once again landed at the bottom of Greenpeace's list of tech manufacturers when it comes to eco-friendly practices.
Nintendo scored .3 out of 10 in the March version of Greenpeace's Guide to Greener Electronics, which ranks companies in categories such as precautionary principle, timeline for PVC phaseout, and amounts recycled.
The only category in which Nintendo did not score the lowest ranking of "Bad" was chemicals management, in which it ranked "Partially Bad."
According to Greenpeace, its two demands are that companies should "clean up their products by eliminating hazardous substances" and "takeback and recycle their products responsibly once they become obsolete."
Nintendo was "surprised" to have scored a zero in Greenpeace's December Guide, insisting that they took "great care to comply with all relevant regulations on avoiding the use of dangerous materials, recycling, etc."
Greenpeace's current guide gives Nintendo credit for showing a "tiny improvement," but declares that the company is "still way behind."
Microsoft fared somewhat better than Nintendo with a score of 4.7 and Sony did better still, earning a 7.3. Samsung and Toshiba tied for the top spot on the list, each earning a score of 7.7.

WOW eine 0.3 ist schon übel und nein es liegt nicht daran, dass sich Nintendo geweigert hat^^
