Sind leider keine neuen Screens... Ich verstehe allerdings nicht warum nicht wenigstens 5 neue Bilder veröffentlicht wurden. :/

Aus dem neogaf, EIndrücke:

Spent some good time with this today and am pleased to report back that it's quite a nice SRPG. I don't get the feeling that it will be a TO or FFT, mainly because the story doesn't look to have that epic unforgettable Matsuno nature; but it seems like it will be a very enjoyable SRPG to play through.

-Loading is fast, pretty much non-noticable.

-Maps are nice! A lot of vertical moving and neat stuff like ladders make the map feel a bit more alive.

-Game is sorta a mix between a party SRPG like FFT and a one-man-show rpg like N1 games. For most of the time you'll rely on party tactics as some of your members might be better than Jeanne. But Jeanne has the ability to transform into SUPER MODE for a few turns once per map and when in this mode she is a one man party. She has this sorta gamebreaking ability where as long as she KILLS the enemy she attacks, she restarts her turn like she hadn't moved or attacked yet. So you can basically jump from enemy to enemy to enemy in one turn and kill everyone but you have to be strong enough to finish them in 1 blow or you will end your turn like normal. Boss fights are pretty much based around saving this ability and using it at the right time (it always ups your attack/defense by like 300x while in the mode).

-Attack animations are really fast, as is the general flow of the map. You always gotta worry about animations and AI movement/thinking bogging everything down in SRPGs, but it's not an issue here.

-The game is a bit insane because they put a turn limit on EVERY MAP. Pass the limit and you get game over. This is sorta scary because they don't give you a ton of leeway and you're always making the best of the situation while moving ahead. It keeps you from sitting back and healing yourself between each enemy or luring one enemy out at a time and finishing them off. It's an interesting mechanic and really changes up the game flow but I hope the leeway is still good at the final boss ^^; Oh and it keeps the maps short (5-15 mins) for portable form.

-Skills are handled interestingly as well. You get skills from defeating enemies with them or you buy them at shops. Skills are broken down between attack/support/magic/stat_upgrades, you equip them and de-equip them in-between battles. Each character can hold about 3-4. Skills/Magic use SP that is gained every turn. For instance my healer can heal pretty much once a turn with the SP she gains back. You can also do skill creation where you throw in a few skills and out pops a new one. It's pretty good and user friendly since you don't have to commit permenantly when giving characters stuff.

-There's a bit of FE in there as well. Besides the traditional ALWAYS counterattack that happens in battles there's a rock paper scissors thing going on with 3 elements (sun, moon, stars I think). Doesn't make a huge difference but it can be used to your advantage.

-You can go back and replay older maps to gain EXP.

-Also after you finish a map you get bonus EXP which is distro'd to everyone so even the party members who don't do much can stay around the same levels as your main party.

-The "Burning Side" system where when you hit a guy a burning circle opens behind him for the rest of the turn and if someone stands in it and attacks an enemy they'll do like 3x damage...has potential. The game mentions there is some way to possibly create long chains of this, but I haven't really seen a situation where it's possible.

-On defense, "Connection Guard" just means for each party member you are touching (1 space away), when you get hit like 1-5% of the damage will be taken off. So if you have a 5 person party all touching you might negate 25% damage from incoming attacks.

-Difficulty level seems solid. Enemies do a good amount of damage and it's not so easy to keep heal everyone because of the turn limit and because money needs to be not spent recklessly.

-There's like 39 mins of anime FMV according to duckroll. It's all pretty nice; Maaya Sakamoto rocks.

-Unfortunately, I think the 39 mins of FMV + game engine/textures are taking up the whole UMD because despite it being a polished high budget L5 game...the story scenes aren't voiced :( Would've really been nice but oh well :\

-Another thing that's taking a hit do to the FMVs is the sound quality. While still above say DS sound, the music in Jeanne D'Arc is definitely not CD quality. It's more like 192kbs MP3...which is ok, but not great. The music is quite good for a L5 game, but yeah I wish the quality was better.

-Graphics are really nice. I think the SD models are a bit freakish and the game 2d art is nothing special (there is some dude who did art for the instruction manual cover and it's ****ING AWESOME...why did he not do the designs :( ). The best thing about the game graphically is definitely the texture quality in the environments. Very detailed and tons of variety. Probably one of the best looking SRPGs in terms of maps.

-Story is ummm, ok? It's a bit anime/kid-ish like most L5 stuff but then it has serious stuff like villagers jumping off cliffs in suicide because their loved ones have died. It's a wierd middle ground ^^;

So yeah, so far it seems like a really nice little package that's as polished, filled with gameplay systems, and has as traditional of story as any other L5 rpg. I like it better than Rogue Galaxy already but that's not saying much :P Too bad no one buys PSP games ^^;

US Boxart VS Japan Boxart

Da gefällt mir die US Boxart echt besser.

IGN Review: http://psp.ign.com/articles/812/812668p1.html

9.0 Presentation
A unique twist on a classic story, Jeanne d'Arc merges fantasy elements with historical action to create a unique experience.

9.5 Graphics
Visually impressive with animated cutscenes, eye catching characters and great animations, the pixilated issues are a minor snag on an otherwise excellent title.

9.0 Sound
Voice acting and sound effects are excellent. Unfortunately, the music can be quite repetitive.

9.0 Gameplay
With the exception of transformed characters sometimes being too powerful, Jeanne d'Arc is an extremely balanced strategy RPG.

9.5 Lasting Appeal
The skill binding system and free battles, coupled with the various combinations of parties and skills you can use, will keep you busy for quite a while.
