Selbst die Third-Party's bekommen ein Stükchen vom Kuchen, womit deren Support gesichert ist .

Anscheinend sind in Teilen Japans weiterhin massive Engpässe vorhanden:

This is for Gafers (or is it Gaffers??) in Japan. Can anyone tell me where I can find a DS Lite?? My wife has been trying to buy one for my birthday for weeks but couldn’t find one. Yesterday, we scoured Shinjuku, Chiba city and everywhere in between but alas; no DS’s to be found.

How do Nintendo constantly rack up sales of 100K plus each week when every store you go into says the same thing. “We haven’t had any for weeks!”
I have a nice copy of NSMB sitting on my desk buy no DS. Any ideas fellow Japan residing gafites (is that a word?? Is now)

At least for me, finding a DS Lite was absolutely impossible. Every store was out of stock indefinitely.

It was a freak walk in at a store in Den Den Town that saved my ass. They happened to have a preplayed DS Lite for sale, and I picked it up on the spot. Of course, because it`s Japan, preplayed means `owned at one point, but still in perfect condition.`

Btw, where in Japan do you live? I live near Osaka, but I believe most Japan residing gaffers live in the Kanto area.

DS Lite予約強いてください？ Er, if you're not so hot with the Japanese, I'd stick with the note from the wife and not choice gaffer phrases. But...yeah, as for the DS Lite situation...I went to a movie at a mall in Saitama on Saturday morning and there was a huge line outside. My girlfriend joked that it was probably for DS Lites (she's had hers since March and I got one in April)...then sure enough, we walked up and there was a guy holding a sign: "Line for DS Lite lottery drawing." They're apparently still handing out tickets and holding drawings every time they get them in there. And people are still going en masse to wait in line for the possibility of being able to buy one.

The bigger electronic stores in Tokyo I go to get them in regularly, but they're still always sold out within a few hours--even of the crappy old DS.

From what I've seen, a lot of stores are importing them fromthe US and charging a high mark up. The store near my school has FIFTEEN DS Lites from the US, and is charging 18,000 yen per unit.

Hat aber mit Sicherheit mit dem Launch in den USA und Europa zu tun. Sollten die neuen Pokemon-Versionen wirklich schon im September erscheinen (im Juli Tamagotchi 2, Mushi King 2 / im August Starfox, Final Fantasy III und Tales of the Tempest), dann dürfte das bis Weihnachten so weiter gehen ;-)

Wahnsinn, dass eine Konsole ausverkauft sein kann, obwohl gerade nicht so viele Tophits erscheinen und auch kein Weihnachtsgesc häft herrscht. :o

Also wenn diese Nintendo Dominanz bis zum Wii-Launch anhält, dann sehe ich sehr sehr gute Chancen, dass der Wii ebenfalls so einschlägt wie der DS.

Schön, dass sich NSMB so oft verkauft.
