C.O.P.: The Recruit devs want to top GTA: Chinatown Wars

“We looked at other games, like GTA: Chinatown Wars, and set out to build something even better. We love and respect all the previous games in this genre, but after analyzing what these other games have done, we really aimed to push the envelope with C.O.P.” – Nouredine Abboud, senior producer/codirector

When I first took a look at C.O.P.: The Recruit, I was extremely impressed with what was accomplished on the DS. After Rockstar said that it would be difficult to create a realistic 3D city on the handheld, I never thought we’d see another development team pull it off. C.O.P. still looks great, so I’m just hoping that the gameplay won’t disappoint.

Korg DS-10 Plus Is Buggy-AQ Interactive details a work around

AQ Interactive came clean yesterday on a couple of bugs that are present in its KORG DS-10 Plus music synthesis game, which saw DS release here on September 17. The company also provided a work around for the bug.

There are two bugs mentioned in AQi's statement. The first is a problem with the KAOSS_X/Y parameters on Deck B's SYN1 and 2. The second is a problem with switching between SMT and HLD on Deck B's KAOSS_X/Y.

KORG DS-10 users will hopefully know what all that means, as I certainly don't. If you need more specifics on the problems, you'll have to refer to AQi's Japanese statement, linked above.

To avoid the problems, AQi suggests that players use Deck A. The problem only appears for Deck B.

Save the Earth in Tom Create's new DSi Ware Title

Tom Create's last DSi Ware game had players draw lines in order to trap mice. Its next title has a slightly edgier theme.

In Earth Saver: Inseki Bakuha Daisakusen, Earth is being threatened by an incoming asteroid. You're sent up to the surface of the asteroid to plant bombs and cause a series of chain reactions that make the asteroid break into fragments. You have to plan your bomb placement quickly and strategically if you yourself want to make it out alive.

Monster Finder PV Released

Alpha Unit provided a first promotional video for the upcoming monster battle game today at its YouTube channel. Stream it here:

Monster Finder continues to make headlines primarily for its status as the first DSi exclusive retail release. The game, which promises to make heavy use of the DSi's camera, will only run on DSi systems. DS and DS Lite owners are out of luck.

The game hits on November 19, carrying a price of ¥5,040. Pre-orderers will get an original pouch.
