Opening Video, Closed Beta Details

The closed beta of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is opening its doors to PlayStation 4 users in North America, Europe, and Japan this weekend! From our understanding, the closed beta will be available for download to everyone who pre-ordered the game digitally through the PlayStation Store beginning on October 7 at 1 AM PST (4 AM EST). Players will be able to access the game once the servers are activated on October 8, 2016 at 1 AM PST. The closed beta will last until October 10 at 1 AM PST, when the servers will be deactivated. If you ordered the Xbox One version (physical/digital), PC/Steam, or physical version of the game on PS4, there will be no closed beta for you. Players will be able transfer their Dragon Ball Xenoverse 1 save data to the Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 beta.

There will also be an open beta for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 from October 14, 2016 at 1 AM PST to October 16, 2016 at 1 AM PST. As far as we know, this will also be exclusive to PlayStation 4 users. Of course, if we hear something different, we’ll let you know right here on Saiyan Island! The difference between the open and closed beta is the open beta will be availible to all PlayStation 4 users, regardless of if they have pre-ordered Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 or not. Any PS4 owner will simply be able to go to the PlayStation Store and download it. During the open beta, the first Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 World Martial Arts Tournament will take place. It will pit the top players against one another for the right to be called the best fighter! Those who participate in the open beta will also be able to earn a free bonus item once the full version of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 launches.

Now, onto the Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 opening video. It features Time Patrol Trunks and the Supreme Kai of Time trying to convince you, in a recruitment-style video, to join the Time Patrol. Take a look at it below.

Nach langem hin und her zwischen normaler Version und Deluxe Edition habe ich mir mal die Deluxe Edition für 58 € (bei gamesplanet uk mit Steamgruppen Rabatt) geholt.

Raid Quests Revealed, First Video

In addition to traditional battles, story mode, side missions, parallel quests, Expert Missions, and Master Quests, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will have what are known as Raid Quests. Bandai Namco Entertainment has not yet officially announced this new type of mission, however, developer Dimps implemented it in the beta this past weekend. According to what was in the beta, for Raid Quests:

All Players in Conton City are participants in these event quests and must work together to achieve the objectives in a limited amount of time. Raid Quests are only availible when connected to the XENOVERSE server, and any scheduled Raid Quests will be announced in Conton City. Check the News Board in the Reception Area for details.

From our understanding, and we could be wrong, Raid Quests are team-based battles that rely on all of the Time Patrollers. These are time-limited events, meaning they only occur at certain times decided by Bandai Namco or Dimps. So the blue sphere or dimension portal that is seen in the sky and at the Resort District in the video below will not always be there.

In a single Raid Quest lobby, six players can participate, similar to Expert Missions. There can be multiple Raid Quest lobbies. However, unlike Expert Missions, it seems the results of these multiple Raid Quest lobbies contribute to the overall result of the Raid Quest. The beta did not list what the objective of the Raid Quest were or win/lose conditions, but it involved a heated battle with Majin Vegeta. As the video below indicates toward the end, as time went by, it seemed as Majin Vegeta only grew in strength. We wonder what the ultimate objective of Raid Quests are and if any experience points will be gained. We should know for sure within the next 10 days and hope to let you know right here on Saiyan Island!

New Frieza Commercial, Open Beta Issues

A new commercial for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 has been released. Frieza provides the voiceovers for the commercial and seems to highlight traditional battles, story mode, side missions in his spaceship, parallel quests, and Expert Missions.

Bandai Namco Entertainment has also acknowledged issues with the open beta. While the closed beta last week was smooth, the open beta has run into persistent downtime. This is not due to the Xenoverse 2 servers, however. Bandai Namco has mentioned the root cause of the issues are the PlayStation Network, which is also playing host to the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare beta this weekend. Conton City is hosted on the PlayStation Network servers, while online battles are hosted on Bandai Namco’s servers. Multiplayer Online Lobbies may be inaccessible for the time being, but if players are able to get into the Offline Player Lobby, they will be entered into an offline mode where they will still be able to invite friends to online battles.

Fans have been requesting an extension to the beta, however, no information on if the beta will be extended has been announced. Bandai Namco has mentioned the “Raid Quest” scheduled for this weekend may have to be postponed. We are not privy to what the Raid Quest is, we don’t recollect it ever being mentioned before, however, as soon as we have an update, we hope to let you know right here on at Saiyan Island!

Hit Confirmed.

Konnten die anscheinend noch in der letzten Minute reinmachen (auch weil so viele Fans gefragt haben) ohne dass der Charakter die DLC Route gehen muss. :)

Hätten sie bei Black auch machen können.
Hol es mir nächstes Jahr.

Will Have 28 Stages On-Disc

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 hit retailers next week. An image leaking the stage selection screen reveals there will be 28 stages on-disc. There may be more via DLC or possibly more that are not reflected in the image below, that’s unconfirmed, but again the image below shows 28 spots. 17 of the 28 have been revealed thus far. We hope to inform you of the 11 additional stages as soon as they are revealed right here on Saiyan Island! For the 17 stages we do know, they are as follows:

World Tournament Stage
Hyperbolic Time Chamber
Wasteland
Pod Landing
Mountains
Planet Namek
Planet Namek (Destroyed)
Tree of Might
Archipelago
Cell Games Arena
Cell Games Arena (Destroyed)
West City Ruins
Kami’s Lookout
Beach
Hell
Supreme Kai’s World
Space (Earth)

If including the Universe 6 vs Universe 7 tournament stage from the latest teaser, we could say we know 18 of the 28 stages!

Der Aufbau.. na immerhin verstecken die es nicht, dass es später noch 2 Stages als DLC gibt. Mehr würden mich nach dieser Anordnung ehrlich gesagt wundern :ugly:

Super Saiyan 3 Bardock Confirmed

Super Saiyan 3 Bardock has been confirmed as a playable character for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. The two images in the video below come from the game itself where Super Saiyan 3 Bardock battles Mira as part of the game’s story mode.

Super Saiyan 3 Bardock was first revealed in the Japanese arcade game, Dragon Ball Heroes. Bardock, wearing a mask as part of a group called the Time Breakers, was initially under female demon scientist Towa’s control. When the mask broke and Bardock returned to normal, he was able to go Super Saiyan 3. Bardock then takes on ‘Super Mira’. Super Mira hasn’t been announced for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 as of yet, but it still seems the game is at least loosely following Dragon Ball Heroes.
