CES 2008 - Der Thread

Die Toshiba Pressekonferenz war mal wirklich peinlich. Ihre Gerede von "..die HD DVD is aber offiziell der DVD Nachfolger" (wen interessiert das überhaupt?) und "wir sind noch lange nicht tot..wir wurden schon vorher für tot erklärt, aber jetzt erst Recht nicht". Was sie weiter planen für die HD DVD haben sie aber nicht gesagt. ;-)

Es wurden auch sämtliche Termine mit Anyalysten, der Presse und anderen Leuten gecancled, da man ihnen kein Zukunftskonzept präsentieren konnte^^

und BD ist nicht Teuerer. Eher im Gegenteil 1-3 Euro Günstiger^^

4:21PM - He's talking about the booth -- three zones: creativity (digital imaging, creative endeavors), HDNA (HDTV, Blu-ray, HD audio products, etc.), and mobility (portables, duh). "And more -- much more."

Sony's new mylo (2) now official

The mylo is back, and this time it's gotten serious. The once humble, even kind of laughable device has been upgraded with specs respectable enough to make former naysayers sit up and take notice. Check it out:

* 800 x 480 3.5-inch (resistive) touchscreen display!
* 1GB internal storage, mini-USB
* 1.3 megapixel camera, 802.11b/g, colored info-LEDs
* WMA / PlaysForSure DRM, MP3, AAC, ATRAC, and MPEG-4 codec support
* Flash Lite 3 (capable of playing back YouTube videos, for example)
* Netfront-based browser, AIM / Gtalk / Yahoo IM support
* Skype support, podcast and RSS aggregator (!), and an expandable widget panel with access to Google, YouTube, Facebook and other web 2.0 sites
* Attachable face plates ($20) and cradle ($30) options
* Free Wayport WiFi access at your local participating McDonald's until December 31, 2010
* 5.1 x 2.5 x 0.8-inch footprint

Unfortunately you still can't add your own apps to the device, making it far less compelling then, say, the similar but far better equipped Nokia N810 -- which goes for $180 more. It's shipping this month for $300, "BS" key included for no additional charge.

4:35PM - The W760 -- 3G slider. Walkman 3.0 with SenseMe, FM, stereo speakers, has "tilt gaming controls" (i.e. accelerometer), A2DP,, 3.2 megapixel camera, M2 memory, Q108, 2100 tri-band HSDPA (not for the US, what?!). Number two: W350 -- "One of the most inventive Walkman designs yet."

4:40PM - Now the creativity stuff. New DVDirect can do Blu-ray. Sixteen new camcorders -- including "hybrid-plus" models including up to 8GB of internal flash memory. Five new AVC-HD models, all record in 1080 (not specified i or p).

Die MS PK kommt irgendwann danch^^
