Most of the answers for this FAQ are taken from the "Questions for the Team" section of the Cult of Rapture forums, some are taken from interviews or podcasts. Either way, I'll add more as more questions are asked.
Q:
When does the game come out?
A: August 21st in North America, August 24th in PAL
Q:
Is that the ship date or day it will be in stores?
A: It will be in stores (and gamers hands) on the 21st, and 24th
Q:
Is the game coming out on PS3?
A: No plans have been made at this time
Q:
Is this a "sandbox" game?
A: Technically, yes. You can freely roam around the areas of Rapture open to you, however some are sealed off until you meet certain criteria.
Q:
Are there load times?
A: There will be 20-40 second load times for every about 1-3 hours of play.
Q:
Are there any cross hairs?
A: Yes, as well as zoom/iron sights on most weapons
Q:
What about multiplayer?
A: Not this time, hopefully in BioShock 2
Q:
I hear you can kill little girls, is this true?
A: Well, depends on what you define as a little girl. Also, death is implied, never shown towards the Little Sisters.
Q:
How do I get Adam?
A: Little Sisters, and only Little Sisters
Q:
But in a gameplay video he got some out of a cash register...
A: That was an older video, things change in development.
Q:
Is BioShock DirectX 10 compatible?
A: Yes, but it also runs on DX 9
Q:
Are there Subtitles in BioShock?
A: Of course!
Q:
Are there any stealth aspects?
A: Minor, but AI is smart enough to know if they can hear you or see you, so expect to be able to hide behind a corner waiting for a Splicer to waltz on over to your cyclone trap, don't expect to be able to run around unseen though....
Q:
Does the AI wander around?
A: Yes! The splicers, along with Big Daddies and Little Sisters are all part of the Rapture ecostructure and continue their routines unless interrupted.
Q:
Is there an RSS feed for the Cult of Rapture?
A:
http://www.2kgames.com/cu...t.rss
Q:
Will there be a Demo?
A: After reading all this you need a demo? (most likely there won't be)
Q:
Can you jump?
A: Yes, as seen in some videos.
Q:
Are there any differences between the 360 and PC versions other than the usual port differences?
A: Yes. Irrational had two separate teams working on BioShock, one for 360, and one for PC. They have different layouts for menus, inventory and other interfaces.
Q:
I suck suck suck suck suck at FPS games, but I want to play this. help?
A: Good news friend, easy mode is very easy, while normal feels right, and hard will test all your skills and mental prowess.
Q:
Do enemies respawn?
A: Splicers do, Little Sisters are finite. I have no idea about Big Daddies, I assume they are infinite.
Q:
How many endings are there?
A: At least 2
