The Samsung P9 Express 512GB actually gives you the most usable space of all the major brands - a full 477 GB usable in the Switch 2.
Almost no one talks about this, and most people just assume every 512GB card gives you the exact same storage. But that is wrong. SD card capacities vary wildly depending on how the manufacturer formats them. For example, the 512GB SanDisk Express card only leaves you with about 456 GB of usable space.
That is a massive, massive difference. An extra 21 GB is easily enough room for a whole extra AAA game or a bunch of indie titles.
Here’s the absolute best part: I paid €100 for the Samsung P9, which was about 20% cheaper than the SanDisk (€125) at the time of writing. So I paid 20% LESS and got 21 GB MORE space.
