Next mainline Tales entry is still deep in development as Bandai Namco apologizes for the long wait.
This was shared by series producer Yosuke Tomizawa during his latest interview with Famitsu, where he was also joined by Kazuhisa Wada from the Persona Team (Atlus).
Aside from focusing on bringing some of the old games back with the Remastered Project, their main focus is also on the next big title in the franchise, which he admitted has taken them quite a long time.
"It must be a title that meets the high expectations of the series. The scale of development has raised the bar, and honestly, we are keeping our fans waiting. While we can't share concrete details just yet, we are actively facing the future of the series and are currently hard at work creating it.
Games that are loved for a long time, characters who are cherished for a long time—Tales of is a series built on that accumulation, and we will never waver on that. I apologize for the long wait, but through this joint interview, even as a Persona fan myself, I felt that 'we must not lose.'"
