Das ist ja inzwischen fast kein Gerücht mehr, nach den ganzen Andeutungen (oder Winken mit ganzen Zäunen), die GHM so rausgehauen hat. Und es ist ja auch noch ein Titel offen, zu dem wir außer dem Publisher absolut gar nichts wissen. Gut, im Hopper's Podcast vor 'ner Weile wurde noch gesagt, dass ihr nächster Titel nach den zu dem Zeitpunkt angekündigten den mit Abstand heißesten weiblichen Hauptcharakter aller Grasshopper-Spiele haben wird. Wenig hilfreicher Teaser, aber immerhin.
Ich hoffe nur, dass Suda selbst wieder stärker involviert ist. Er führt weder bei Shadows of the Damned noch bei Sine Mora Regie, und bei Codename D wohl auch nicht.

Nicht nur das. Man nimmt bewusst einen Flop in Kauf, damit man mit dem Nachfolger umso mehr Punkten kann. Ob es wirklich so war, weiß ich nicht, aber mir fällt auf Anhieb DeadSpace ein.

Ich bin nicht sicher ob ich den Satz verstehe
Man investiert langfristig in eine IP und nimmt anfangs Verluste in Kauf - siehe EA mit Dead Space und Mirros Edge oder Sony mit IPs ala Uncharted. Dafür gibt es mehrere Beispiele wobei es nicht wirklich zur Nintendos Herangehensweise passt. Golden Sun ist aber sicherlich nicht gefloppt bzw. ein Verlustgeschäft gewesen, die haben schon realistische Erwartungen gehabt.

Jo, Nintendo scheint mir nicht der typische Publisher zu sein der einen "Flopp" gerne fortführt, aber GS war ja wohl auch kein Totalschaden

OFLC rates Rayman 3D
Although Rayman: Origins was not announced for a Nintendo platform at E3, a noticed posted on the game’s website stated that it could eventually end up on the 3DS and/or Wii. We still don’t have a confirmation that Origins will end up on Nintendo’s next handheld, but a listing from the OFLC is hinting that it may happen.
“Rayman 3D” has been rated by the OFLC, though we don’t know what platform the listing is for. Moreover, if it is for the 3DS, we don’t know if it is a port/spinoff of Origins. It’s certainly possible that the title could be for the 3DS, but don’t get your hopes up until Ubisoft has something official to share!

Koji Igarashi working on new Castlevania for 3DS?
At this past E3 I had a chance to once again talk with Koji Igarashi of Castlevania fame in Nintendo’s playable 3DS area. At the time, he expressed great interest in the platform and told me that he’s already involved with several projects for it. When I asked him if one of these titles was a new Castlevania, he told me that the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS have been great for the series thus far and that he always has new ideas to carry the franchise further.
Though that wasn’t a confirmation that he was indeed making a new Castlevania for the 3DS, it was a pretty good sized hint suggesting it, or at least that he had ideas for it…eventually.
Today I received a considerable sized rumor from the same source that brought me the Zone of Enders 3 and Metal Gear Solid 5 tips, that artists and 3D modelers have already begun to work on the next Castlevania game and that it’s for 3DS. Furthermore, talk has gone around the studio how to cleverly make use of the 3DS’ 3D cameras. That part, if true, makes more sense than using the handheld’s motion controls on their own, because Koji revealed to me in the past that though he finds “motion gaming” interesting, it’s not best suited for longterm gaming sessions or for the more hardcore-type of game that requires extreme precission.
This news has me pretty excited, because I’m a big fan of the Castlevania series and I know that if Koji is behind a project, its chances of delivering go up considerably. I’m curious for now to see if this project will be the next masterpiece 2D ‘Vania or another attempt at a 3D action-adventure game. I’m rooting for an epic 2D adventure with whatever type of clever 3D use Konami can come up with.
What kind of game do you want the next Castlevania to be? Are you down for another grand 2D quest like most of the entries have been in the last several years or do you prefer your Castlevania to be more God of War-like?

Weder noch. Ich will verdammt noch mal ein richtiges 3D-Aktion-Adventure und keinen GoW Clon oder wieder einen 2D Teil. Nix gegen die 2D Teile, aber nach so vielen Metroidvanias ist die Luft einfach raus und bessere Grafik + 3D Spielerein helfen da auch nicht viel weiter. Auch nix gegen GoW bzw das letzte CW, es ist ein tolles sehr spassiges Spiel aber eben nicht das was ich von der Serie erwarten würde und für mich eher ein Schritt in die falsche Richtung. Ich hoffe da eher auf etwas in Richtung Legacy of Kain, aber naja mal abwarten was da kommen wird...

Mir fällt gerade noch ein, es soll in der Famitsu eine Anzeige mit einem Atwork zu dem Grasshopper-/ Kadokawa-Projekt. Hat die irgendjemand gesehen? Ich kann sie um's Verrecken nicht im Netz finden. Soll zwar nur ein Charakterportrait gewesen sein, aber ich wüsste gerne, ob KYMG wieder die Designs macht. Der Typ ist einfach großartig - irgendwie schade, dass das außer Grasshopper niemand in der Spielebranche erkannt zu haben scheint...
