VC&WiiWare vs. XBLA vs. PSN

Primary reports seem to be that updating to firmware 3.61 will cause PlayStations to overheat. There have been various reports of this on a few different games now, all reporting their PS3s turning off or "Red Lighting" after having installed 3.61. This can range from games randomly freezing to PS3s turning off anywhere between 30 mins use to 2 hours. We have confirmed locally that multiple games (Rockstar and non-Rockstar) overheat or freeze only when 3.61 is installed.

At this time we are recommending contacting Sony directly to report the overheating issue. However, this is not the end of our support; we are continuing to test L.A. Noire on all firmware versions and hardware models to isolate the issues and see what can be done. As always, we will update this article as soon as we have updates.

ach du Scheisse

Jaja, solche Berichte gibt es nach jedem FW Update und bisher war nie was drann...
Mal abwarten was passiert.

FW 3.61 erstellt ein neues Feature der PS3:

"JETZT neu mit GRILLfunktion"

--> " Nur Ein Spiel in deine fette PS3 Version reinpacken und danach kannst du genösslich Speisen"

--> Spiel und Essen für alle :v:

Spiel, Spass und Spannung - it only does everything! :v:

5. Check other game discs in your PS3 to see if issues are occurring in other games, suggesting a potential console problem.

PS3 firmware 3.61 not crashing LA Noire

Rockstar has retracted its accusation that firmware 3.61 causes PS3 versions of L.A. Noire to crash and freeze due to the console overheating.
Sony last night condemned Rockstar's claim as "rumour" and "speculation". Rockstar has removed the offending post from its website.
Rockstar's support FAQ has been updated to offer routine troubleshooting steps for L.A. Noire owners experience problems on both PS3 and Xbox 360. There's no mention of PS3 firmware 3.61.
L.A. Noire will be released across the UK tomorrow. Eurogamer's L.A. Noire review was published yesterday.

Ich hab zwar kein L.A. Noir, aber ich hatte nie Probleme mit der Firmware!

Wie oft solche Meldungen schon gekommen sind, und keiner hier vom Forum konnte das bestätigen, bei keinem einzigen Fall.

Sony hacked again - twice

Sony's So-Net Entertainment subsidiary was hacked by intruders who made off with about $1,200 worth of virtual points, The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday.

The hacker stole the points from about 128 accounts and was able to read email from about 90 accounts, the Associated Press said.

Sony has been hacked, and one of its servers used to host a phishing site, according to Finnish company F-Secure.

The hack, which is not connected to Sony's problems with its PlayStation Network, has placed a phishing Web page on the Sony Thailand site, F-Secure chief research officer Mikko Hypponen told ZDNet UK today. F-Secure notified Sony, the company said in a blog post today.

"The phishers are looking for credit card details and log-ins," said Hypponen.

PlayStation Network Maintenance Later Today

PlayStation Network will undergo routine maintenance today, between 16:00 BST and 00:00 BST. If you wish to play online during the maintenance, please ensure you sign in to PSN before 16:00.
The latest information I have on PlayStation Store is that we are aiming to have it live by the end of May. Contrary to popular rumours, it will not be reopening tomorrow but we will let you know here as soon as the date is confirmed.
We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused by this essential maintenance.
