Microsoft "X-Box" bekommt eigene TV-Show in Deutschland

Wenn Sony mit einer neuen Kampagne die Playstation an den Mann bringen will und Nintendo den Preis des Gamecube drastisch senkt, dann muss auch Microsoft reagieren. Neben einer neuen Werbekampagne hat man eine eigene TV-Sendung in Planung.

Schon zum Deutschland-Start der X-Box gab es beim einzigen deutschen Computer- und Videospiele-TV-Format 'Giga Games' mehrere Spezialsendungen. Das scheint Microsoft inspiriert zu haben. Spätestens Anfang Dezember soll die Show auf Sendung sein.

Wie Boris Schneider-Johne dem Branchenblatt 'Horizont' verrät, stehen die Verhandlungen mit zwei TV-Sendern kurz vor dem Abschluss. Der Name des Formats steht schon fest. 'Play together TV' wird der Titel der neuen Show sein.

Wie aus relativ zuverlässiger Quelle heute zu erfahren war, werden Sony und Microsoft den Konsolenpreis für Ihre Geräte ab Montag senken. Leider wurde die neuen Verkaufspreise nocht nicht genannt. Es wird jedoch vermutet, dass die neuen empf. Verkaufspreise jeweils € 149,-- sein werden.

Auf dem Cover des Official Xbox Magazine, sieht man unter der Rubrik 'Where are they now?' Final Fantasy VII, weiß jemand was genaueres? Die Zeitschrift erscheint übrigens am 4 November

Doom3 for Xbox dated!

Acording to information released to retail late last week,Activision UK has revealed the release date for the hotly anticipated DOOM III for Xbox.
According to the publisher,the game will be available across Europe from FRIDAY,FEBRUARY 27,2004,somewhat sooner than the middle-of-next year date predicted by most.

16.12.03 - Hier sind einige Meldungen aus dem amerikanischen 'Official Xbox Magazine', die aus der Gerüchte-Rubrik stammen (Danke an TripleH):

Xbox 2 & Spiele:
Ein Entwickler plant Spiele für die Xbox 2 auf der kommende E3-Messe (Mai 2004) 'hinter verschlossenen Türen' vorzustellen.

Die meisten Mitarbeiter der Branche rechnen 2006 mit der Xbox 2. Die Chancen für eine Veröffentlichung 2005 seien dagegen gering.

Electronic Arts online:
Zwischen Electronic Arts und Microsoft soll es angeblich Verhandlungen geben, dass frühestens Anfang 2004 EA-Software auch via Xbox Live spielbar ist.
EA soll bereits an Battlefield 1942 für Xbox Live arbeiten: Die Enthüllung der PC-Umsetzung soll demnach mit der Bekanntgabe EAs zusammenfallen, Xbox Live zu unterstützen.

Gleichzeitig soll EA auch eine Reihe von Xbox Live-kompatiblen Sportspielen vorstellen.

sonstiges:
- Microsoft arbeitet an einer 'EyeToy'-ähnlichen Idee für die Xbox.
- Fable soll vor dem 30.06.04 erscheinen.
- Game Arts soll Rollenspiel-Versionen von Lunar (Mega CD, Saturn, PSone) und Grandia (Dreamcast, Saturn, etc.) für die Xbox entwickeln.

Xbox 2 games in the works

MechAssault developer Day 1 Studios are currently hiring for "a properly funded and scheduled Xbox 2 project," according to a posting on their official website. The developer is believed to have early versions of the next-generation of hardware in their possession, and were responsible for one of the original Xbox Live debut titles in the form of the first MechAssault.

In potentially related news, a Robbie Bach speech is planned for the GDC later this month (the 24th), at which the Microsoft big-wig is expected to announce Xbox 2 in some form - probably via a discussion focussing on new titles for the system. Could Day 1's current development be a part of this?

Certainly, some kind of presentation based on games is certainly expected, and it seems likely that Bach's offerings will be based on titles - rather than specifics on the new console itself. More as we get it.

Microsoft set to Dominate GDC - First Xbox 2 Image Revealed?


Microsoft is set to dominate the Games Developer's Conference, taking place this week in San Jose, with a suddenly enhanced line-up being revealed.

Lead Xbox evangelist J Allard will now take the stage alongside overlord Robbie Bach, with a keynote speech aimed at highlighting productive working practices amid escalating development costs, entitled, Turning Innovation Into Impact.

Industry chat now points towards a retrospective look at the emergence of the Xbox, as well as a glimpse of several technical demonstrations from the next incarnation of Xbox hardware.

Interestingly, we unearthed a flyer - said to be an official print from Microsoft - featuring Raven, the tech demo sweetheart with the dancing robot buddy that wowed crowds during the first ever glimpse of the original Xbox. If our image is real - something we cannot verify at this moment - does this make for the first ever Xbox 2 picture?

USA: Xbox-Preissenkung auf USD 150?

14.03.04 - In den USA scheint innerhalb der nächsten zwei Wochen eine Preissenkung der Xbox bevorzustehen. So schaltet Wal-Mart demnächst Anzeigen, in denen die Xbox mit USD 149,92 (Euro 123 / Yen 16.616) beworben wird; ein erster Scan der Werbung liegt von einem Wal-Mart Angestellten bereits vor.

Derzeit ist die Xbox noch zu einem Preis von USD 179,99 (Euro 147 / Yen 19.949) in den USA zu haben.

Wal-Mart hatte bereits die ersten beiden Xbox-Preissenkungen lange vor der offiziellen Ankündigung durch Microsoft enthüllt. Ebenso hatte Wal-Mart mit der letzten Preissenkung des Gamecube recht, die ebenfalls vor Nintendos Bekanntgabe in den Prospekten stand.

Offiziell hat Microsoft bislang keine Preissenkung der Xbox bestätigt.
