Vivendi & MS?

We reported about this last week but today sources close to Vivendi confirmed the rumors: Vivendi Universal is in talks with Microsoft Corp. over the sale of its video game business. Both spokeswomans for Vivendi's game business and Microsoft Corp. declined to comment on any negotiations or rumors.

The sources also revealed that Vivendi remains in touch with Electronic Arts and Sony Corporation.

Vivendi Universal Games owns Sierra Entertainment, Blizzard and Universal Interactive among other studios. These companies develop and publish games such as StarCraft, Diablo, WarCraft, SWAT, Tribes, Die Hard, Half-Life, Crash Bandicoot, Aliens vs. Predator™, No One Lives Forever, Counter-Strike and the list goes on.

Hmmm, ja, sehr interessant. Auch im Falle eines Kaufs von Vivendi durch MS wird Vivendi wohl weiterhin Spiele für EA und Sony machen wollen. Anscheinend wird es sich wohl nur um einen Teilkauf handeln werden.
