The Party application allows players to text and voice chat in real time with their PlayStation[SUP]®[/SUP]Network friends even if they’re playing different games. Create a party with up to 8 people to not only stay in constant contact with your friends but also to join into their online multi player session directly. Tap on the heart icon to add a favorite party to reconnect with your friends again.
Party allows friends and friends of friends to join your party. When friends of friends join your room, Party notifies you and allows you to easily add them as a new friend without leaving the Party application! If a party member is playing an online game you don’t have, the Party application can take you directly to the game’s page in the PlayStation[SUP]®[/SUP]Store. From there you can purchase and download the content. And then, you’ll be ready to play with your friends!
When the party application detects that you are talking, your microphone will animate. This will make it easier for you to know when you are speaking with your fellow party members. You can easily disable your party microphone by simply touching on the icon. Likewise, if you want to mute another player in your party, simply tap on their speaker and then you will no longer hear that party member. The party application will also keep track of the players you mute and then disable their voice should you enter a party again with that same player.
