One thing we havent spoken enough about in Too Human is the robust item collection system. Too Human sports all of the item collecting and features one would expect from an RPG and quite a bit more. As much fun as it is to tear through hordes of robot monsters, it needs to be just as fun to collect the next uber loot drop that youve been looking for.
The items in Too Human come in a variety of flavors. Lets start with the weapons and armor pieces. Players can collect swords, hammers, and staves which all come in dual wield, one-handed, and two-handed forms (each type has different play styles, attributes, strengths, weaknesses, etc
). Pistols, rifles, and cannons are also available with different ammunition types including slug, plasma, and laser. Six armor pieces are available including: helm, shoulders, gloves, chest plate, leggings and boots. There are insane amounts of unique looks to each of these items, with a combination of dirt, scuffs, scratches, color schemes, and material effects, making nearly limitless visual combinations for players to collect. So for all those dreaming of pwning through rooms in co-op play with a glorious mismatched, makeshift suit that stands out like a sore thumb, Too Human can make it happen. These items are also available in different alignments but well be discussing more on that at a later time. happy
These drops all have a chance of having available open slots where Runes can be placed to hand craft specific bonuses onto the items. Runes provide over 100 different types of bonuses, and players that love to min/max or just customize their gear for the optimal load-out can hunt down these Runes and fuse them into their items. For players that like a more aesthetic customization for their characters, there is the color scheme Runes that will change the color of the item they are fused into.
In addition, Baldur can also equip Runic Charms. Runic Charms are more powerful versions of Runes. In order to unlock their true powers, a task must be completed. These bonuses go far beyond conventional statistic bonuses, proving game play altering powers. Ultimately these charms can add things like the power to freeze enemies when they hit your armor, or the ability to regain life with each of your weapons attacks, or even grant bonuses to your skill trees. And it doesnt stop there as Runic Charms can be combined in special combinations to form even more elaborate bonuses.
Lastly all items in Too Human have levels and rarity, starting with the common level one drops and ending with the unique ultra-rare epic items that can form sets for additional bonuses. Theres a huge variety of ways to get drop items in Too Human. In my next blog, Ill cover the numerous ways to get these items throughout the course of the game.
