Der Test von IGN (nur das Wichtigste):
Closing Comments
With a new variation of online gameplay, The Omega Strain makes a name for itself by providing a fun area for groups of people to get together and coordinate for some group action. With 17 missions and hundreds of objectives to take care of, there's enough to dig through for quite a while. Fans of the series should be able to jump right in and find a good new variation of the older games.
Still, with the control issues and the respawning and the floaty movement, The Omega Strain is kept in check from becoming a more immersive experience and is instead more of an arcade-style shooter. These flaws in the game show that there's still room to grow after this experiment in online gameplay is concluded. Hopefully, Sony Bend will learn from these mistakes and hone this style of gaming into a more refined system.
8.0 Presentation
The menu screens have a slick techno look to them and are easy to get through in single-player. The online lobby still needs some work, however.
7.5 Graphics
There's tons of variation to be seen in the different agents and the different environments are a little blocky, but with good textures.
8.0 Sound
A solid cinematic soundtrack with plenty of action-movie dialogue. What's not to love?
7.0 Gameplay
This is not the easiest game to jump into with a weak first weapon and awkward controls, but it does get easier.
8.5 Lasting Appeal
With tons of weapons to acquire and the possibility of playing with friends online to refine the technique, there's a good reason to plug in the Network Adaptor.
7.6
