General manager of Nintendo France, Stephan Bole speaks at the time of MedPi to give a description of the situation of his company. But we preferred to remain on the line that we had fixed ourselves, namely not to leave on a disguised fall of price of the machine. It is necessary to remember the different repositioning price of Xbox, to include/understand how Microsoft managed to draw its pin from the play at the end of 2002! However, it should be recognized that a more aggressive commercial offer would have allowed us best performer at the end of the year. I want of it for proof that as soon as we proposed bundles which had a real financial advantage for the consumers, the sales of GameCube passed by again that of Xbox. As soon as we recreate the normal price difference between the two consoles taking into account the absence of reader of video DVD on GameCube, our sales are definitely higher.

Very very well. There is more than 14 plays whose sales exceeded the 50 000 parts, and we estimate that there is not a play multiplateforme which was sold better on Xbox than on GameCube. We make between 25 and 30 % of the sales of plays for our console. The remainder is the fact of the third editors.
How is the continuation of the year in term of line-up announced?
E3 was the occasion besides to discover more than 110 plays for GameCube. It is well the signal which we are supported by the editors. One will find many titles exclusive Xbox like Soul Calibur 2, Resident Evil IV, Metal Gear Solid Twin Next... Nintendo had the will to approach the third editors while in particular making work of the joint teams. We now will collect the fruits of these collaborations. In addition, we also work with the other editors during the launching of their titles AAA while bringing one as often as possible supports marketing. Besides one observes a strong reactivity of the sales of machines to the exclusive titles. It is true for the Nintendo plays obviously, but also for the plays of the third editors.
Which will be your policy of end of the year?
We will be pressed on three axes: plays of the third editors, plays of Nintendo and Gbc-gba connectivity. In our clean line-up of the second six-month period, there are extremely strong titles, like Mario Kart, F-Zero, Pikmin 2 in particular. Lastly, we will insist on connectivity between our two consoles, the GBA, in its version SP or not, and GameCube. One could see a score of plays offering this possibility at the time of E3.
You so much did not communicate around the functionalities plays on line of GameCube. Why?
Nintendo made the choice propose a very open system: we make it possible to each editor to conceive his play on line for GameCube, without taking royalties. As editor, we do not neglect this aspect of the video game, but we do not forget that for the moment it is about a niche.
Which are the operations under consideration for the end of the year?
We did not decide a special operation yet. But we will be able to react to all the initiatives of our competitors to maintain the differential of price between GameCube and the other consoles of show."
