Gamers.com schrieb:Just in time for E3, Vivendi today announced Middle Earth Online, the latest fantasy-based massively multiplayer RPG to join the other ten million fantasy-based massively multiplayer RPGs coming out in the next year or two. The difference here is that rather than being an "homage" to the fantasy world created by J. R. R. Tolkien (and brought to cinematic life by Peter Jackson), it is Tolkien's fantasy world, down to the hobbit dwellings and the hairy feet.
According to the official website, you'll be able to "select the path of the battle-worn warrior or a more simple life of crafting and harvesting." You'll also be able to build your own race-specific dwelling as your character develops.
Most interesting about the title is that it's being developed by Asheron's Call/Asheron's Call 2 developer Turbine. With Turbine's pedigree in creative MMORPGs combined with the richness of Tolkien's Middle Earth, this could be the game to break your EverQuest "hobbit."
