Also Wertungs- und Verkaufszahlentechnisch auf keinen Fall! ;)

edit:
@canada:

Who Has The Most Exclusives In 2008?

total-exclusives-by-format-aug-5-2008.jpg

total-exclusives-by-parties-aug-5-2008.jpg

By just looking at the cold numbers, Nintendo and its highly successful Wii platform are leading the 2008 exclusives race with approximately 85 of them. Microsoft follows with 70 while Sony follows at a distant third with about 35.

The total number of downloadable exclusives for both Nintendo and Sony are quite close with approximately 20 on each of their respective platforms. Microsoft is in a league of its own, though.

When it comes to third party exclusive support, Microsoft and Nintendo are feeling the love with many publishers developing exclusively for their respective platforms. While Sony is left out of the third party love fest, Sony’s own Worldwide Studios are picking up the slack with nearly 30 PS3 and PSN exclusive titles.

Are all these exclusives worth owning though? Definitely not. Not all games are created equally regardless if it was multiplatform or not. We haven’t done so yet, but we are hoping to include review data next to all of this in the future. For now, you all get to see a high level view what each console platform holds.

Looking at the disc based games available and coming for 2008, Nintendo has a commanding lead over the competition. A vast majority of the exclusives for Nintendo are from third parties who have decided to focus Wii only releases. I’m sure a large number of these titles could be considered “shovelware”, but it’s still an impressive number. Next, Microsoft can tout the fact that it has almost three times the number of exclusive third party software compared to its high definition gaming rival, Sony.

As for first party support, all three platform holders are putting out an equal effort on the retail disc front.

In the downloadable games space, third parties are flocking towards Microsoft and XBLA. Nintendo’s WiiWare is garnering some attention as well and as a relatively new service it has some strong exclusive third party support.

Sony, on the other hand, seems to be pushing PSN and its downloadable service on its own with first party exclusive titles like Siren: Blood Curse and PixelJunk Eden. The lack of exclusive third party support for the PSN is a bit of a mystery and concern, however it is widely believed that Sony has a strict quality vs. quantity policy. We’re not sure if this is the case or not, but it’s good to see the platform holder publishing many works on their own.

Go Sony! :goodwork:
