Steve Jobs Movie starring Ashton Kutcher to premiere at Sundance in January 2013
The first of two movies based on the life of late Apple visionary Steve Jobs is to premiere at the Sundance film festival in January 2013. "jOBS" (yes, it's written like that, in the sort of caps-lock mess usually reserved for Apple products and failed indie bands) stars Ashton Kutcher as a young Steve Jobs. Directed by Joshua Michael Stern, the film focusses on the "defining years of Steve Jobs' life", chronicling the years from 1971 up to the launch of the first iPod, the product that re-ignited the company, paving the way for the hold over consumer electronics they now enjoy. The film also examines Jobs' time involved with both Pixar and NeXT too.
The premiere will take place for select media and industry experts on 27 January 2013, though no word on when the general release of the movie will take place has been shared yet.
The second Steve Jobs movie, based on Walter Isaacson's best-selling biography, is still in the middle of production. The book is being adapted into a screenplay by Aaron Sorkin, the man behind the successful adaptation of Facebook flick The Social Network.
