Producer Wyck Godfrey (the Twilight series) has spilled some beans on the Gears of War movie.

In a video chat with Making Of, Godfrey confirmed that he's working on it with Underworld and Live Free or Die Hard director Len Wiseman for Legendary Pictures (300, The Dark Knight) and New Line Cinema.

"The hard part is to make it into something that doesn't feel like a world torn asunder and people just in battle. I think we really want to focus on the idea of a world that's running well and then it's Emergence Day. Kind of make it impactful and immediate and like what those 48 hours are as people survive Emergence Day," said Godfrey. "It's more like Cloverfield or something like that because trying to tell the epic story of an alien planet that's living in a horrific environment just feels like the wrong mood right now."

Billy Ray (Breach, Shattered Glass) is currently rewriting the GoW script originally penned by Chris Morgan (Wanted).

Hm..zu viel von dem Alltagszeug sollte imo nicht kommen..bei Cloverfield wars genau richtig.

Dylan Clark, bekannterweise der Produzent von -The Batman- hat gegenüber thedigitalfix.com bekannt gegeben, dass der Gears of War-Film in Kürze angekündigt werden könnte.

Dylan sagte: 'Ich freue mich, dass Sie sich dafür interessieren. Das ist etwas, das mich schon seit langer Zeit begeistert. Ich denke, dass es sehr bald eine Ankündigung geben wird.'

Bezüglich des Marcus Fenix Darstellers wird weiterhin über Dwayne -The Rock- Johnson spekuliert. Dave Bautista hatte sich selber für diese Rolle angeboten. Wer es am Ende wird bleibt abzuwarten.
