Eine HS und Lair Demo wären für mich einfach das Größte
Und das Schöne ist, dass der Release beider Demos sehr wohl in Frage kommt![]()

auf die HS demo bin ich wegen dem gameplay gespannt und auf die lair demo wegen der grafik.

Also sind die Sprünge schon in den einzelnen Angriffen inbegriffen, oder was?
Bin vor allem auf die Grafik und das Gameplay gespannt. Hoffentlich wirds nicht nur so Arena-Fight mässig - wäre dann ein wenig enttäuschend - aber ich denk die Jungs und Mädels werden das schon richtig gemacht haben!neues interviewIch wette ja, dass die Demo diese sein wird, welche auf dem Sony Gamer's Day gezeigt wurde. Da hätten wir eine Quick-Action-Sequence und einen Arena-Kampf![]()
The cofoundator of Ninja Therory studio, Tateem Antoniades, answers us on precise apsects of the game and give some more information about this title.
Q : what movies or games have influenced you to create the universe of Heavenly sword ?
TA : there are a lot ! We love the poetice universe of ICO, the intense action of a title like Panzer Dragoon, the style of a Devil May Cr, the technicity of a Virtua fighter... On the movi side, there is Hidden dragon and Crouching Tiger, Crazy Kung-fu, Versus or Lord of the Ring. We have digested all those universes to create the one for Heavenly Word but i do hope the game will convince you by its own qualities and not its numerous inspiration sources.
Q : Heavenly Sword is mainly action oriented, isn't there a risk of being repetitive ?
TA : Even if the game focus on combat, we biult it so that there are varied situations. Indeed, you will have fights againts several ennemies at once, duels against bosses in the same category as Tekken or Virtua Fighter, or moreover some phases where you'll have to decimate an entire army with a cannon. We also plan some enigmas based on the reflexes of the payer... To finish with, ther are all those sequnces controlling kai, and her controls are much different from Nariko's. You see that there is plenty of variety.
Q : In heavenly sword, there is no button to jump. Aren't you afraid that some player complain about this ?
TA : the jump button is an old principle of arcade games that effectively may gamers are used to. But do you remember when you had only 3 lives to finish the game ? Or that the smallest fall in a platform game would mean instant death ? All those concepts were working well in a 2D world, but have been progresively abandonned in the 3D games because people realized that they were not appropriate anymore. At the beginning of the development of Heavenly Sword, we have implemented a jump button, but we soon cancelled it because it was in fact not useful. We prefer tha current system, in which the attacks are contextual. when she blows a move, she automatically jump to chain its combo.
Q : same question concerning the absence of a button to block the attacks. : can't the automatic guard make the game too easy ?
TA :in fact, the gaurd system we have put in place isn't at all that basic. to automticlly block the enemies attacks, Narika must choose prior to that tah adequate stance of her sword. For instance, to counter an heavy blow, you need to adopt the "Power stance" by withholding the R1 button. And against an unblockable attack, nariko will have no choice but to "escape" by rolling to the sides with the analog right stick; the gaurd is indeed not at all that easy !
Q : Can you tell us more about the QTE ? In the demo, it seemed that they were not necessary to succed in QTE to continue the adventure...
TA : As a matter of fact, i always had a problem with those sequences of game where a single little mistake of timing or button would bring instant death. This is why we made the QTE partially optionnal : for instanc, in the seunec where Nariko runs on the cord, you Have to press the X button to not fall; But towards the end, as she jumps on the ennemies, it isn't tht necessary that you press X button because would will whatever fall properly on your feets ! the payers that will be able to accomplish QTE to the perfection will be granted with bonuses at the end of the game but the othere that can't will not be punished too severely for that.
Q : We have seen some sequences where Nariko could use a kind of bazooka. can we expect to see othere exotic weapons, or some vehicles ?
TA : there will be no vehicles in Heavenly Sword, but Nariko will indeed have the possibility to ue all kind of weapons, more or less big or powerful, as the bazooka. let's not forget the objects she can grab here and there...
Q : is there going to be some online mode or some additionnal content to download ?
TA : it is still a bit too early to talk about all that, but for sure we wsh to extend the lifespan of Heavenly sword by proposing some content via the future Playstation home for instance. Fact is that it's anot an easy task to develop some multiplayers mode for an action game like this one...

Nariko's sister, Kai(sp?), is playable. She uses a crossbow and you can guide the projectiles with the sixaxis or the analogue sticks if you prefer.
We've all seen how good the facial animation is and the cutscenes that were seen today were no exception. The emotion in the characters is incredible.
It's very simple to perform "superstyle" moves. Just press O! You have a superstyle gauge, not sure if it refills over time or through pickups.
Counters are performed by pushing Triangle at the moment of block, just like Ninja Gaiden. There are two levels of counter. If you get the timing perfect you do a badass counter that kills your main target and knocks down surrounding enemies.
The sheer number of characters on screen at times is astounding and the graphics are awesome, especially the lighting. The latest build of the game was shown and the framerate is looking steady, should be no problems by the time it ships.
