Ps3 braucht weniger Bildpunkte um die gleiche grafische Qualität zu Erreichen wie Rodbox, powered by Cell

Theres been a nasty rumor going around that PS3 version of GTA IV runs at 640p all started by posters on forum Beyond3D which many news outlets ran as "real" confirmation, more specifically the poster named Quaz.
Quaz who admits to only owning the Xbox 360 version of the game, speculates the PS3 version of GTA IV runs at 640p all from studying raw screenshot output sent to him from Dot50cal (another Beyond3D poster).

Well lay the rumors to rest not only considering Rockstar themselves confirmed both Xbox and PS3 versions to be running in native 720p back in previous issue of EGM during an interview when asked if GTA IV would be running 1080p native,
BUT, Gameradar also confirmed GTA IV to be running in 720p when they were able to capture raw-output video straight in 720p from both versions.
As some of you may know, it is also discussed in Beyond3D forum, raw output ensures the video does not get "up-scaled" and prevent's "post-processing" thus viewing the video in its truest natural form.

"We’ve played both console versions of GTA IV, and took the following video from the opening scene. We captured the raw video in uncompressed 720p, with no post-processing to either stream. Shown side-by-side, it’s quite difficult to tell the difference between the two versions. Only a highly trained eye can see the subtle shifts in color, the minor variations in shadow detail."

Don McCabe, managing director of UK games retailer Chips, says a “phenomenal” Grand Theft Auto IV launch period has seen the Xbox 360 version leading unit sales, but the game driving greater PS3 adoption across the company’s 31 stores.

Demand from day one has been phenomenal,” McCabe told Next-Gen Friday, echoing statements made by retailers Play.com and Game earlier this week. “It’s the biggest selling title on any format that we’ve ever had. We virtually sold out on day one.”



McCabe said that the Xbox 360 version had begun as the stronger seller, but that the PS3 version was closing the gap and driving more hardware sales.



“Initially the 360 version was the biggest seller for us but in the last couple of days the PS3 version has been picking up. I think as people have got to see it on friends’ consoles and start talking about it the vibe has been growing, and I think anyone that’s got a PS3 is now making the decision to come and buy a copy. Over the last day or so the PS3 version has picked up quite substantially [although] it’s still slightly behind the 360 version.



“The game’s certainly a hardware driver,” he added. “Some people appear to have been waiting for a killer app on PS3 and see GTA IV as that app, so we’re certainly noticing that the game’s more of a hardware shifter for PS3.”



Chips has so far taken one GTA IV restock that was supposed to satisfy consumer demand over the busy weekend shopping period. Unfortunately, however, some customers will be unable to obtain a copy, a situation that’s bound to be reflected at many stores nationwide over the bank holiday.



“We’ve had one restock to date form Take-Two and [distributor] Gem but copies have been flying out of the door. The batch that we just got was for the weekend but it’s not going to last that long. There are odd units dotted around the system but we’re now taking pre-orders for the next delivery. We’re hoping to get another restock early next week.”



So has he felt let down by Chips’ allocation?



“It’s always nice to have a title that sells out, but on the other hand you never like to have a disappointed customer standing in front of you. We feel that we’ve had a good allocation from our supplier. The logistics of dealing with such a massive seller are very, very problematic and I think they’ve done an exceptional job in getting the stock to the market and trying to treat all retailers fairly.”



On Wednesday ChartTrack revealed that GTA IV had broken UK opening day sales records after shifting 609,000 copies in its first 24 hours of availability. According to the sales monitor’s estimates, the Xbox 360 version sold 335,000 copies on Tuesday, compared to 274,000 PS3 copies.

am schlimmsten finde ich ist, wie ernst er die sache nimmt.

Wenn man weiter denken würde könnte man das real life selbst als noch schlimmer abstempeln, man kann seine eigenevtochter 24 jahre in einen keller einsperren und sieben kinder mit ihr zeugen ohne das es jemand merkt!!1!11

Die grafischen Unterschiede zwischen GTA 4 auf Xbox 360 und PlayStation 3 sind klein. Nur wer genau hinsieht, erkennt auf der PS3 die etwas schöneren Licht- und Schatteneffekte, deutlich echter aussehende Gesichter und plastischer, runder und einen Zack schickere Autos. Dafür sieht auf der Xbox die Stadt schöner aus, Details sind oft besser erkennbar, Texturen wirklich klarer, Kontraste größer. Insgesamt wirkt GTA 4 auf der Xbox 360 höher aufgelöst, auch die Kantenglättung funktioniert deutlich besser. Zwar wirkt die Grafik auf beiden Systemen erstklassig, im Zweifel rät Golem.de aber zur Xbox-360-Version

So kann man sich alles aus dem Arsch ziehen, nicht wahr? IM Zweifel rate ich mal zu ner neuen Brille.. Hey, die PS3 Version schaut soviel besser aus, aber im Zweifel nehmt die 360er Version.. *kopfkaputt*

die 360 explosionen sehen wenn mans spielt auch sehr nice aus, kommen bei den bildern nicht gut rüber.
