Paar Auszüge zur Story, mein GotG ist hiermit da:
"I could write about the game’s story for this entire review; it’s that good."
"The story is, dare we say it, probably a better yarn than that delivered by the first game. Its themes are certainly more relevant. While Deus Ex was more consciously a pastiche, starting with the premise that every conspiracy theory is true and spiralling off into hysteria about aliens, Human Revolution focuses on more immediate and credible issues surrounding transhumanism – its effect on morality, the vast social inequalities it will create and how the powerful will seek to subvert its potential to their own ends. And the game is particularly good at illustrating how power sustains itself through illicit collaboration between corporations, governments and the media. You only need to turn on the TV to see how relevant that is."
"The plot driving Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a lot more complex than initially hinted, and the only way to really know what's going on is to spend the time talking to people, searching out eBooks and hacking your way into various personal computers to read e-mail. E-mail can sometimes contain useful passwords (granting you access to yet other systems), but it is typically there to flesh out the game's backstory and offer insight into the grand conspiracy pushing forward the plot."
"The full story is vast and complex, crammed into every corner of Human Revolution’s world. Every apartment you break into, every secret room you find, every rooftop you clamber across has little scraps of personality and history to read and interpret. It’s a story-junky’s blissful overdose."
"Thus the scene is set for a game that travels around the world, weaving social commentary and philosophy on the nature of transhumanism throughout a tale that touches on corporate espionage, global conspiracy, and well-intentioned extremism. As well as living up to the sacred legacy kickstarted by the original Deus Ex, Human Revolution's narrative takes the very best of Metal Gear Solid, merrily pinches elements from Blade Runner, and adds its own unique blend of fascinating characters and satisfying plot twists. It is, in short, one of the most intriguingly written, thematically ambitious games I have ever played."
Aber war ohnehin klar, interessiere mich schon sonst für Transhumanismus, daher wäre es für mich eh eine Überraschung geworden, wenn es nicht "mein" Spiel geworden wäre.
