WarDevil - Unleash the Beast Within

Breaking: WarDevil Launches New site page, Date of Reveal
37
WarDevil's homepage received a slight upgrade, while adding more sound, the removed the previous pictures and movie clips. The home page also revealed that they will reveal the title sometime in October.

As of remaining PS3 exclusive, the website did not state either way.

WarDevil: Enigma was first announced in 2005 and is slated to be a graphical powerhouse using full 1080p and full, fluid 60 frames per second animation, the first on any console to do so if successful. Once being announced for all consoles, WarDevil: Enigma was later annonced as exclusive to the PS3. WarDevil's exclusivity was recently refuted by IGN.com, but IGN's article later refuted by Hiphopgamershow.com.

Five-year WarDevil project cancelled

London studio survives closure threat; ‘30 staff’ made redundant

A protracted development process and mounting costs has resulted in the five-year WarDevil project face cancellation at the final stretch.

The game’s developer Ignition was expected to close its London offices, though the studio says it is fighting on.

Develop has heard that some thirty staff have been made redundant from WarDevil’s cancellation.

It was originally believed that Ignition would look to outsource the WarDevil project, an ambitious action game that would provide 'Hollywood-grade' visuals at 60FPS.

But the industry Ignition found itself in five years ago, when the project was green-lit, has undergone inordinately rapid transformation

'WarDevil' gets green light and name changed to 'Project Kane'

UTV Ignition Entertainment today announce the conclusion of its studio review for the third-person action title, War Devil which will now to be called ‘Project Kane’ and is given the green light despite production previously being holted on the very visceral looking title.

“Following a comprehensive audit of the title, assets and internal team, we have decided that a core team responsible for the Project Kane prototype will take the game into full production, led by the key vision holders,” commented Hassan Sadiq, group chairman of UTV Ignition.

“There has been speculation recently about this project but our vision has always been to create top quality content both with internal and external partners and this latest commitment combines the best of the DNA behind the original project vision with some of the creative talent available in the broader industry. Outsourcing ensures flexibility and broader expertise that will dovetail perfectly with internal skill sets to speed up the process and ensure a title of true excellence.”

The London Executive Producer Shaun Gwilliam will head the team. The Design Director Julian Glover added: “We have cherry picked from some of the world’s best teams to build our UK studio which includes personnel whose combined previous development credits include Burnout 3, Crysis, Little BigPlanet, and Heavenly Sword. We are extremely excited to fast-track development of Project Kane.”

Project Kane is tentively on track for release in Q4/2011, and we at Zombiegamer would highly recommend you keep an eye on this one. This should be a great project indeed, going on what we have heard and seen. And lets hold thumbs for that 2011 date to stick.
