While Forbidden Siren 2 was getting the all-star treatment at TGS this year, with its ominous booth treating visitors to a first glipse of the sinister sequel, Sony was quietly unveiling a second scarer behind closed doors in the form of Rule of Rose.
Developed by Japanese studio Punchline, Rule of Rose unfurls in 1930's England, following the story of a young girl named Jennifer, who's kidnapped and carried away on an airship. Somewhere along the way, she befriends a Labrador called Brown.
Granted, all that sounds about as terrifying as playing Nintendogs in the dark, but now the first full length trailer has hit the 'net - and it's looking like a disturbing beast indeed. Part psychological period thriller, part Silent Hill shocker from what we can tell, the trailer features some seriously classy production values and hits all the right shocker buttons, with more than its fair share of sinister little girls to shit you right up.
Rule of Rose hits Japan early next year, but Sony is yet to confirm whether we'll see the game over here. Based on the trailer alone, we're pretty eager to check out this little freak show, so we'll keep 'em crossed.
