It was rumored when Splinter Cell was first announced that the game would be multiplatform. For a long time it seemed like only Xbox and PC were going to get it but now PS2 and Gamecube releases were announced.
It's known that Splinter Cell is Xbox-exclusive only until 2003. Then a PC version will be released in January. Now several sources said last week that Ubisoft has also announced PS2 and Gamecube Versions to be released in March 2003. This is not quite 100% sure since no official statement on this has been given on the Ubisoft-Website but this is still to be considered likely.
The PS2 and Gamecube Version will also contain new levels and weapons not yet available on the Xbox. Xbox-Users will have to download the new content via Xbox Live instead. Hehe
