Square Enix has announced a final arcade release date of June 21 for the car-themed Chousoku Henkei Gyrozetter.

Joining the arcade date announcement, Square Enix also shared details on the 3DS version. While the 3DS version was announced alongside the arcade version's announcement, today we got first screens and confirmation that the genre will be RPG.

The 3DS title, whose name is going under the placeholder Chousoku Henkei Gyrozetter RPG for now, will share the same world as the arcade version, the anime, and the manga, but will have a story that can be enjoyed on its own. It will also have wireless combat.

The 3DS version will be released in Spring 2013.

Gyrozetter was first announced in December of last year as a media mix project that will span anime, manga and multiple game releases. Some have compared the franchise to The Transformers, as the car you control can transform into robot form. For details on the franchise, see the game's database page.

Square Enix's new Gyrozetter media mix project will see its next phase in October as the Gyrozetter anime begins airing on TV Tokyo. Broadcasts kick off on October 2, and will air every Tuesday at 18:00.

Gyrozetter is currently a manga and arcade game. A 3DS RPG is due in Spring 2013. Bandai will also begin a transformable toy line to coincide with the start of the anime.

The Gyrozetter anime is produced by A-1 Pictures. Staff includes Shinji Takamatsu (Yuusha series) as director.

Square Enix’s Transforming Car RPG Has Plenty Of Towns

Gyrozetter: Wings of the Albatross has players around with their robot that transforms into a car, so it wouldn’t be boring if there wasn’t anywhere to go. Square Enix made five different towns for the Nintendo 3DS game and all of them are in different parts of Japan.

Yokohama New City Center is where Yuki Kudo, one of the main characters, is from. In 2053, it’s the most populous city in Japan with cutting edge technology. Arcadia’s headquarters is located here too. Fukuoka City turned into a sweltering lava world thanks to an active volcano. The town always has energy issues since people run their air conditioners to stay cool. Fukuoka’s "hot spots" are its boiling hot springs and popular local dish, Hakata Ramen.

Hiroshima City has a more pleasant climate that’s cool in the summer and warm in the winter since it borders the ocean. The city is actually underwater and thrives since they utilize tidal energy. Sendai City has a giant windmill that powers the town. It’s a peaceful area blessed with natural resources. Rumor has it a hermit lives in Sendai City’s mountains. Asahikawa City in Hokkaido underwent some changes too. After several years of abnormal weather snow falls all year and people live inside a giant dome to stay warm.

Square Enixs Transforming Car RPG Has Plenty Of Towns Gyrozetter: Wings of the Albatross has a battle system where you have three transforming robots in your party. The active gear system lets you switch gears up when the meter fills. Changing gears gives you access to different attacks, which you can select on the touch screen. The game also has a burst gauge and when it’s full you can do a final burst, your Gyrozetter’s ultimate move.

The game has seven elemental attributes – fire, ice, wind, thunder, light, dark, and nothing. There are also five types of physical attacks – strike, slash, sting, burst, and beam. Gyrozetter: Wings of the Albatross comes out on June 13.

Booahhhh :o

Ich will das auch haben man solche super Games kommen mal wieder nicht hier her oder was??? :-?:(:-?

Nicht, dass ich mir diesen Titel hier jetzt sonst wie wünschen würde... aber ist halt SE... da muss man schon bei größeren Titeln darum bangen, dass sie Japan verlassen... so eine Nische hat dann wohl keine Chance...
